I just reserved one from National for April to pick up at LAX and got a very reasonable deal. $138 w/taxes and after my discount for 4 days.
i went to the site but no prius? i can see it by available cars but not when i enter date's after that i can only pick the normal cars edit: ok i found the problem my pickup and drop are not the same and the i can not get a prius
See if Hertz's "Green collection" is available (I expect it would be at LAX). It features Priuses, and you can specifically reserve make & model in this category. It's not cheap but it prices lower than Simply Hybrid (86/weekday vs. $100)
I rented from Hertz in Seattle 2 weeks ago and was $34.00 for the weekends and a bit higher for weekdays. Some Toyota dealers also has them to rent out as well.
Wow, this company is awesome! I clicked on this on a whim, but I will be traveling to LA in the future and will definitely keep this in mind. I'd much rather rent from this kind of company than a Hertz or Enterprise that happens to have a hybrid (even if it's at a cheaper rate). Plus, I think it'd be awesome to check out other hybrids. My boyfriend and I are considering another vehicle that he can work with (more of a pickup truck kind of deal than the Prius) and would love to "test drive" one by renting while we're there.
