My last two cars were "The Boat" and "The Tank". The Prius is "My Little Red Happy Pill". I take her twice a day and feel better every time. I love it, love it, love it!
I don't generally name my equipment outside of necessity, however, for obvious reasons, my vehicle is always named (unoriginally, I know) the "Dngr Car." Partly because my partial nick is awfully close to Danger Mouse, and also because Dngrmobile is an awkward mouthful.
The kids have really gotten into Scooby Doo lately so I am thinking of naming my Prius the Mystery Machine.
Yes...I believe it does! However, when I ask the car what it is, it always responds with the same silent, heavy-lidded stare and slightly unnerving smile. I must admit I'm a bit uncomfortable being alone in the garage with it, but the voices in my head tell me that I should just forget about it and move on. I suppose I am being a bit overly sensitive....
I would suggest asking while driving... especially during a really good MPG span of time, when you and the car are both happy and "bonded"... Just asking while standing there might feel "confrontational"...
That was good! Well my car name has been officially changed. You can do that in our state. I gave my blind aunt a ride in town and I think it stayed in 'electic mode' the entire time. After just a few minutes she said,"This is just like riding in a golf cart." Well, after telling that story to a few people , that is the new name of my car, The Golf Cart. I love it!
My 2004 Seaside pearl is "old and busted" or just "old blue", since her 2005 Silver is newer. Hers is called "New Hotness". Both the references are from the 1st 'Men in Black' movie (Will Smith lines). I haven't a clue how they came from that movie...
I wuz gonna name mine "Whitey" but a "Colored" friend of mine said some people would take "Offence" So I told him that won't work, since we would then have the answer to the age old question... "Who let the dogs out" .... SO.... since we had traded the old Gen 1 for the new 08 so the English Bulldogs would have more roaming space, we finally decided to call her "Bully". My wife says it fits since she bullies her into putting on the seat belt, and bullies anyone walking behind when we are backing up!.... jf
