Curious, what in the world would lead you to believe 5 batteries would be necessary ... and are you making a presumption about the AUX? Or the high Voltage pack ... or do you even understand the dif ... or were you just joking ... because I'm figuring with the smilie ... you must be. After all you didn't get your extra class ticket without a good understanding of electronics ;)

Actually a battery pack going 350k miles suggests that a lot of highway driving may be gentle on the batteries and defer failure. We don't know Jesse's driving habits but they may also have helped.

I bought a failed battery pack and so far, have been concentrating on the four that were marked "NG" (no good.) But of the others tested, they've all come in about 2.0-2.3 Ahr., which is consistent with the Dept. of Energy fleet study results. My salvage batteries measured 4.4-5.5 Ahr.

What was wrong with it, why did it stop running? Did they check the spark plugs?

Purely amazing... too bad he didn't get to see how long those batteries would last. Or he could put them up for sale for someone else to try in their Prius.

Here is another CleanMPG thread on the topic of the collision. In his most recent post there, he says he hasn't decided yet. He has a rental Prius to drive for a few more days, so he has a little time to make up his mind.

The insurance company totaled it. He got just under $13K for it. Six years old and almost 350K miles! To the pundits that insist hybrids don't hold their value: Take that! :p
