HV battery Service plug

    When i disconnect the serive plug on the HV battery (wanna take a look inside to see if there is no corrosion ) can i just plug it back in
    or wil the car give a failure on the screen

    u really dont need to disconnect service plug to check for corossion, jus put it back in and you should be good to go, make sure you put it in correctly the 04-09 prius is a tricky service plug in comparison to the 01-03

    its just for safety
    when i open up the top then i donty want any high voltage to be flowing

    oh sorry i thought you meant that the service plug connector has corrosion,

    the service plug connects the two halves of the battery, so even if you take off cover there is still high voltage on those contacts.

    and what about opening the upper part of the HV battery case?
    is there any sticker that wil brake and show that someone bean inside?
    and so no warranty?

    i just want to have a look @ MY car battery!

    2007 Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose.

    They bought a brand new Prius and tore it apart just to see how it was made. Apparently somebody (GM, Ford?) is willing to pay for this sort of thing just to know how a competitor builds their products. There are a half dozen articles about the Prius at Portelligent . Select "Published Articles" on the left menu, and scan down a ways for any of the Prius articles. The video and webinar don't seem to be functional anymore.

    toyota should have put gold plates instead of copper on that thingy with all the plates.

    forgot what its called, theres two bolts connecting each module together in series.

    my 01 prius hv battery was corodded already, back in 04, we cleaned it but did not apply silicone sealant

    this was on a 42000 mile 2001 prius, that was only a few years old. This was way before toyota released that bulletin for the sealing and whatever for the HV battery, i noticed the corrosion was much closer to the end with the battery fan, which led me to believe water and such would allow the corrosion of the copper plates.
