Please do not reply if you are angry about my question. I am very sick and injured and cannot argue or please those who believe I should be better at searching for older posts. I know there are kind and helpful membes and that there are those who have given huge amounts of time helping others and who therefore expect not to be reasked questions. I respectfully and desperately ask you to not fire on me.

We purchased a 2007 Touring Edition in Octoberr of 2007, I totaled it on 1/3/08 with my husband and son on board, while having a seizure -- my first ever -- and am now in fourth week of being fully incapacitated. It takes me hours to write email.

We got the dealer to transmit the original paperwork to the insurance company, so that they will realize that it really was a Prius. They are supposed to offer us replacemet value, but the current offer is quite low.

I am searching for a 2008 Pkg 3 with touring. Does any one know how much my price should be on this? It had all features except leather and Nav plus it had touring. It might really be a pkg 4 with Touring, but I am not sure. There is truely nothing missing except leather and Nav

I want to know if State of CA will send new HOV stickers to us for our replacement car. The original car with the stickers is total loss. Please, please don't yell at me and assail me with vulgarities. Last time I wrote in, I asked a much more intelligent question.

Life has dealt a near fatal blow to me and my family. PLease be kind or just ignore me.

    jendbbay,

Edmonds.com shows that a 2008 Touring with package #3 has the following MSRP and Invoice values:

    MSRP INVOICE

    Touring Model $23,379 $21,447

    Package #3 2,105 1,895

    Destination Charge 660 660
    (For Okla)

    Totals $26,135 $24,002

Edmonds TMV price that others have been paying for this vehicle
    = $25,785.

Note: There may be a small additional fee added for some color versions.

Ouch. Here's hoping you get well!
That new, yes, they absolutely should cover full replacement cost. I would be shocked if they don't. If they don't, let us know who the company is so we can avoid them! If they continue to stall you on the issue, find yourself a lawyer...
That's a good question. According to this publication, sadly no:

Hoping for a speedy recovery! I'm on East coast and paid OTD $28,241.75 (7% sales tax) for a 2008 silver touring package#3 with leather. Nav is only thing missing. I thought this was a fair price seeing as how Southeastern dealers have no problems what-so-ever moving these auto's. They barely last a day once on the lot. Well wishes to your health and finding a Pri. ;)

Thanks for the responses, but I am dumbfounded that I can't get new stickers. If the car is a total loss, the stickers will not be on the road. Therefore, it seems they should have the right to continue using them on the replacement car. I can see why I could not sell a car with stickers and then expect to put replacements on another car.

Anyway, writing these messages is incredibly hard. I failed to ask so many other questions. For example, what is expected from Toyota in 2009? Will it be some miraculous leap ahead? When will it be brought to market?

Does anyone know if any changes were made to the blue tooth implementation between 07 and 08?

Most importantly, does anyone know where I can find a 2008 Prius with Tourig, but w/o Nav. and Leather? I don't want to spend the extra 3k

LOcal dealers say they have them, then suddenly they don't. Some claim that there is no such thing in all of CA as a Touring without Leather and Nav and that I would have to wait for 6 to 9 months to get one on order and to pay more than for a pkg 6 with Touring.

Anyone else out there tried Touring and agree that it feels way less floaty?

Thanks for making an effort to read my pathetic postings. If you could only see how hard this is.

I think CA has touring with both #3 and #6 but it may vary from dealer to dealer.

You can always get a standard and either add a BTplate or upgrade the suspension with the TOMs stuff.

Why don't you try one of the shopper things, like Costco and AAA has, where you just tell them what you want and they find it and negotiate the deal?

    Galaxee,

I wrote this reply once and it vaporized. It is hard to type lying flat on back with bad dimestore glasses, a sticky N key, and a knew exercisor gnawing on my leg. Yes, I find myself in a very serious situation, hopefully not the most serious possible. I'll be gradually learning more. Meanwhile, son and husband survived with only bruising on chest where the belt pulled tight.

I appreciate the freaky sound of my situation, but it sounds like your little sis is recovering. Value every walk, every hug, its all gone in an instant.

Want an ugly, but effective fix? Call the place that has the remains of your car. Ask them to peel the stickers. If they will not peel have them sawed out along with the underlying metal/plastic. Rivet them onto the new car. Carry pictures of demolished original car to show any officer who wants to know what's up with the stickers.

And, if there is one person in the car, there will be a ticket. They are quite clear that the stickers match the VIN of the car.

Sorry that I am not any help with your questions, but I do want to wish you a full return to health. I hate that you are having to deal with all of this car stuff while you should be able to concentrate on getting well. I would also contact a lawyer, just so he or she can take care of these kinds of things for you.
    Get Well Soon,
