About to hit 100,000 on 2004 prius any thoughts? Anyone hit 100,000 yet it is all interstate mileage.
i'm at about 90k miles on my 04. i'll see ya at 100k before the year ends... i think.. hehe no problems with mine.. except for aftermarket wheels that are not balanced right. I wonder if it's even possible to remove the sparkplugs... ouch... i should have broken them loose around 50k
My 2004 is at 106,000. There are about 6 2004+ Prii at or above this mark in the Green Hybrid Mileage database. JeffD
NO, I am only at 35,000 miles. I wonder if you would mind sharing your maintenance experience with me and others, so have a better idea of what to expect? Have you had to do the following and about what miles or age of car: o 12V battery; o (motor) air filter; o other mechanical or electronic parts; o brakes (front/rear); and o any other items done, and at what miles/months of use? Little Lou
The only real maintenance I would recommend is a transmission/transaxle flush and fill and coolant flush and fill. Maybe spark plugs, but not really neccessary. The rest of the car is pretty much maintenance free, just check all the wear items.
Your mileage sounds about normal, but I think it is considered low miles compared to the average commuter in the US. I have almost 3K on my '08 and I've had it for almost 2 months now.
If you are a DIY like myself, you may want to replace your belts too in addition to what was mentioned on the above posts. Perhaps think about replacing your shocks and struts, if you have the extra $'s.
don't flush anything. drain and fill. belts plural? there's just one. might as well replace it though. probably a good time to bring it in for a good inspection to see how everything's wearing. suspension should still be pretty good but make sure they check em for oil leakage.
