Here's a question, I have an '07 w/the package 5. Can I add a Nav system and Sat radio after the fact. I do NOT want to add any add'l screens. If so, can anyone give me some good recommendations/advice? Thanks.
Satellite...yes. Nav...not the OEM, you'll have to find an aftermarket product and it won't integrate into the current screen...there are ways to get an aftermarket to integrate, but I wouldn't recommend it...it's actually nice to have the nav on it's own screen and the cost and difficulty aren't, IMO, worth it.
What questions do you have about it? You could probably feed video from a GPS through it if you really wanted to, but you'd need a GPS that fed video or a PC w/ GPS software and a reciever and suddenly you've got this complicated bulky system when you can spend a couple hundred bucks for a very nice aftermarket GPS you stick on the windshield when you need it and take it off when you don't.
LockPick III is more for people who... have "plans" for their vehicles. And for people who have factory NAV and Bluetooth and want to get the babysitter out of the car. Evan's right for what you need.
Since the Prius doesn't have a cigarette lighter, what power source can I plug in the GPS system into?
3?! Where? On the right side near the passenger's feet, in the center console... and? To the OP - I use the Garmin Nuvi 660, and and Proclip mount. Works great. Also, garmin does make a version that does integrate somewhat w/the mfd... if you google garmin black box, it should come up...
In the trunk. Now, this may make a difference by year for the 3rd one. My 05 has it, but I've never seen it in the 07. But I've never looked for it either.
Found it! I can't beleive even after 8 years of owning this car ther are still things I don't know about it.
