I have to think WAY too hard every time I want to clean my windshield or rear window. Firstly, I cannot see the "handle" (for lack of a better word) behind the steering wheel to read it. Then I must take precious eye time off the road to read what I want to do. I end up spraying my rear window when I wanted to just wipe the windshield.

I have a little code: I say to myself "Turnip" which means "turn up" the end of the handle to wipe the rear window. Opposite of that is "push down" for turning on the windshield wipers. I don't yet have a code for turning things off.

Really shouldn't have to work this hard. Toyota, please simplify this.

You'll get use to it and it will become second nature.

It took me only about three years to get used to it :_> But they did design it wrong: the control should not force you to wipe before you can spray.

You would rather that it force you to spray before wiping, even if all you want to do is eliminate light raindrops?

huh? Pull on the handle and nozzles spray the windshield before the wipers come on. Twist down on the tip and the nozzle sprays the rear window before the wiper comes on.

I don't know about you but it's much easier to use Toyota's wiper system than GM's "smart" stalk.

Why don't you tell us how a stalk (or a dial?!?) should be that incorporates:

MIST, OFF, INT, LO, Spray and the variable intermittent settings PLUS the rear window spray, intermittent and constant wipe settings :)

If you're expecting me to find a separate button for the rear window washer/wiper like I do on the Chrysler minivans (which are, for some reason, by your knee) then good luck.

They did in 2004 when the rear wiper was an option. My car does not have one.

Uhh... brain fart! I hate when that happens. Yes, the control does have the needed functionality. But I still wish it were arranged in the other direction (that is swap clockwise with counter-clockwise); as it is it just intuitively seems backwards.
