If so, can you please post a picture? I'm considering having them done on mine and like to see what Magnetic Gray will look like as a whole with tinted windows.

Here in Virginia, the legal limit is 35% on the rear & back side windows and 50% on the front side windows. I've never really liked how other cars look with 35% on one window and 50% on the other. Therefore, I may just have 50% done all around, but concernd this will be too light. I've also heard that certain tints appear darker than others. Therefore, I may be able to find a 50% tint that will appear nearly as dark as another tint at 35%. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Pete

I did limo tint all around, sure its illegal but I can't live without it! I have sensitive eyes so its nice the sun doesn't get to me easily. I will post pics in a few days, the only ones I have are from after my accident in december

edit: here are some not so good angles from the accident

Do people tint the side windows only?

Most people tint ALL the windows except the windshield. Sometimes they leave the small lower hatch window with stock tint so you can see out of it at night.

My car has less tint on the front windows though just to stay legal. Or close to it. ;)

The Aztek. Of course, it also looks bad without tint, but that's beside the point.

Read my post (#27) about my tint. I'll have to add pictures sometime...

I love it, looks great and the ceramic tint keeps the heat inside the car to a minimum even parked in the sun in central Texas (using a Covercraft Heat Shield - sunshade). Plus, the installers did a great job on the installation.

Thank you for the replies, everyone.

YodaddyAlex, looking forward to seeing additional photos of your vehicle. Hope you got it fixed quickly with as little aggravation as possible.

I definitely want to have the same level of tinting for all windows (not including the front windshield, of course). Therefore, just have to decide if 50% all around will be dark enough or do I take a chance with being ticketed/fined for using 35% all around.

My husband and I were driving my sister-in-law's black Prius in San Diego last Christmas, and we were pulled over because of the tinted windows. My sister-in-law was not surprised -- she herself had been pulled off, and ordered to "detint" the windows...

How dark was her tint on the front two windows?

If you do a search, you should find mine with tint (35% all around). I'll post here too, but you'll find lots of info through searches.

Wow, that's 35%? The state law here in SC is 27% and I was probably going to do that, but 35% looks pretty dark. Do you have any pics from closer up?

ucla, That looks sweet! Can't wait to get mine tinted. Now, if I can just find a brand/type of tint that is rated at 50% but actually appears more like 35%. Yes, please show more close-up pics!

35% is perfect. 50% is a waste of money. My .02

I tend to agree and much prefer the look of 35% all around. However, knowing my luck, I'm sure I'll get pulled/fined for also having 35% on the front side windows. What to do...

Here's my 2007 Magnetic Gray Prius with tinted windows. The back windows are a shade darker than the front windows. According to the tint installer, the front windows are the darkest I could go legally in Calif. It was up to me if I wanted to make the front as dark as the front. Instead of risking a ticket where I'd be forced to remover the darker tint, I opted for the "legal" tint. Can't remember what the % of tint was installed.
