I'm on the lookout for a replacement radio antenna for my '02. Recommendations welcomed, especially those based on direct experience. I know that the OE is available, but pricey. Thanks in advance! Clarification: I should have said "antenna mast," specifically.
Thanks, but I don't think a shark will work on my car; the mount is different. I'm looking at numerous options that (claim to) screw right into the existing base. I'd like one that gets at least as good reception as the OE one. If anyone on the board has actual experience with subbing out the old antenna, I'd like to hear from you!
Thank you for the recommendation, Victor. That one was definitely on my "short" list (ha!--pun intended), but I decided to go with this 32" one like the original: Toyota Prius Antenna Parts, 86309-12130, 86300-47010, FITS: 2001-2003. I'll post results here when it's up and running.
Follow-up pn previous posting: the antenna (linked above) arrived today, and I quickly installed it. Works great! I'm receiving all of the local and regional FM stations that I listen to, as well as AM stations from as far away as NYCity (90 miles) and Philadelphia (60 miles). On FM I get Scranton (WVIA), Trenton (WWFM), Philadelphia (WRTI and WHYY), plus our local WDIY, and more. Signals are at least as strong as with the OEM antenna, maybe even cleaner in some cases. I'm very favorably impressed!
