I assume you already know that you can connect your phone and use Google Maps via Android auto? Google maps works great and I also use YouTube music quite a bit.

I tried subscribing for one month to Toyota and the navigation was very poor, far outclassed by Google especially for voice commands. The only useful feature is Traffic Jam Assist which is shame that we have to subscribe in order for it to work.

It must have a temperature sensor, probably somewhere in the engine compartment. The message might shut up if you unplugged that sensor. The car might also lose the ability to tell you the outside temperature.

I got locked out of my car yesterday, and this time it was bad. I went around to the passenger door, and it wouldn't open either. This is the first time I had to use the physical key to get in.

I've addressed this problem with the dealer since new, but without being able to demonstrate it, they won't do anything.

Did this happen with both fobs? If a fob battery change does not resolve it, perhaps the dealer needs to re-pair the keys to the vehicle.

Both fobs seem to be temporarily inactive when this occurs.
Both batteries were replaced to no effect.

I assume you needed to place the fob on the power button to start? I would look into the vehicle pairing.

You used Techstream to pair the fobs with the car? I thought a dealer or locksmith needed to do that/

That's unlikely to be the problem. The fobs work fine after such an incident. The problem is intermittent and unpredictable.

i would expect some sort of TSB with troubleshooting steps for the dealer then. Otherwise anyone here is just guessing.

I tried it, it doesn't work on the 2019 Advanced version with the 11.6" touch screen display. And still my original point - Why am I paying for a distracting 11.6" color touch screen display that's out of date from the moment I get it?

Because Toyota said so? My son has driven Toyotas since hos 2005 Prius and has never used the OEM navigation. He HAS tried and then ends up using either Garmin or, more recently, Apple Maps.

Our 2004 and 2012 had good nav’s , but not with all the bells and whistles of some aftermarket, and updates were expensive

Interesting. My son's 2005 was bad. He initially tried hos 2015 Prius V but quickly went back to his Garmin. In hos 2-23 RAV4 Prime he uses Google Maps. Waze was not an option because they do not properly support CarPlay multiple displays & her has HUD.

EDIT: I have not tested in my 2025 Camry, but Waze now says the newest update supports multiple displays when using CarPlay.

A correction above. I tried the new Waze version on my 2025 Camry & it still did not display directions on the HUD.

No, because I tried it and it doesn't work. The display doesn't recognize the Android device.

There's evidence that it works for the smaller display, but not the 11.6 " one.

Android Auto was not available in the 2019 Prius. BTW, your profile still shows a 2011 Prius.
