First off a confession, this is to load 07 camry hybrid pids, already have the prius ones. The app wants me to download a special app but it is only for older android versions. Want to try the camry hybrid, but would really like to have torque pro to look at battery cell voltage. Hopefully someone more tech savvy has found a way around this sort of issue.

OK, this may affect prius owners too. Went to settings/ installed plugins/get more plugins/advanced EX for toyota and it took me to google apps with the message that the app was not available for current android. So any ideas?

Been a while, but my recollection is that Torque Pro had one set of PIDs for Prius, but there was another set available online, and that loaded manually, and it was more extensive. See this thread for the method:

Gen2 Prius: Custom PIDs for Torque (Android App) with formulas | PriusChat

I think I used the file from here rather than the one on the first post in that thread

GitHub - gerdbremer/Prius-gen2-torque-PIDs: Toyota Prius NHW20 PID list for Torque app.

The method would be the same if, and that is a big if, you could get the PID file from somewhere. I looked and found several threads bemoaning the lack of such a file. The reason why this doesn't exist is that the manufacturer is hiding the information so that customers need to pay them to fix their cars, and because working them out by monitoring the communications lines is a PITA. See this thread:

Reverse engineering PIDs | Toyota GR Yaris Forum

Get a copy of Techstream and take that with you on a laptop. That can certainly check the status of the battery. Other options would be the Autel AP200 or the Dr. Prius app, which says that it supports the Camry Hybrid.

Thanks. The gen2 prius pids do not talk to the camry computer, already tried that. I was hoping for a quick fix, this is not worth a lot of time. All I want is battery cell voltage and SOC, as a bargaining tool. I am not yet interested in buying the techstream or autel stuff.

For those few values Dr. Prius will work, assuming the support they claim is real. (Probably is, no point in making a false claim so easily disproved.) The base app should give the information you want. The paid one will do the more extensive battery tests, but I'm guessing people selling the car might not want you to run that. It is time consuming, and if you have never seen it done before, looks a bit abusive to the vehicle.

Try the free Hybrid Assistant app. Camry is supported.
Report on the Android smartphone screen. You can also get a report in the Hybrid Report form.

Checked out an 07 camry, it won't make the cut but there was something interesting about it. The system monitoring display is not available on the screen. Climate, radio, maps are but no neat visual of power flow.
