Here's my past 6 month driving history. December-January are my highest months each year due to travel for holidays and work. Otherwise, I average about 200 miles each month with a total of about 4-6k miles per year as I work remotely. Purchased exactly 2 years ago at 85k miles and traveled a lot the first year. Just broke 100k miles. I have done the EGR Cleaning service, among many other preventative maintenance services right after purchase. It's garage kept, and has excellent maintenance history. Rebuilt title due to minor sideswipe from last owners. No airbag deployments or frame damage. I acquired images of said wreck and I'm amazed how little it takes insurance to salvage it out. The 12V battery is original still! Just tested at excellent voltage too. I make sure to drive at least twice weekly and allow it to cycle fully each trip. Anything else I should consider doing to keep it happy? I know the Prius doesn't like to sit and is meant to be driven. I've considered selling it, but it is paid off and I have too much recent maintenance to justify what it would sell at in current markets. It's a great grocery-getter and a god send for 8+ hour trips.
Doesn't sit outside all the time? I'd be the only consideration for me If you have a garage for it Kentucky is pretty reasonable temperature not a serious cold zone but it does get cold. Seems like you're managing to just get by with it so I would continue doing that because trying to sell it and taking a loss or breaking even or whatever the case may be won't be good so you're not depending upon it to live on the highway or live in it so you should be probably reasonably good I mean with that lie to use even poorly running it'll be okay but not to travel long distances but it would get you buy in a pinch
the 12v suffers the most from limited driving, so it sounds like you're fine. consider cleaning the egr circuit, and do regular maintenance based on time, if it comes before miles
Nicely done. The nimh hv battery is the only thing to can turn heel on you. If you have another vehicle, sell the Prius.
