If you prove me wrong, I'll count that as a win.
I'll wait for a better day to take a pic to confirm.

The black slats, right?...mostly horizontal, tilted up at the leading edge...there seem to be central supports as well, anchoring the pivot points.

"count that as a win" What the heck does that mean ?
No need to win from my point of view.

It’s a beautiful sunny day here, about 70 degrees F and sunny out.
Here’s the images of the louvers on my ‘24 Prius prime.

I'm in the same boat. Had to put a pad down, lay on my side and then take the pics. It's a bitch getting back up.

Override your camera's auto-exposure too, if possible. If you've got a bright outer grill, the camera's naturally going to adjust to keep that from blowing out, and something deep in the shadows goes to near-black.

    Post 24 not convincing?

These are very hard to see. It's all black plastic in poor light. Without Hammerrsmith's and RP's pictures, I'd have had no idea what I was looking for.

Back when people were putting cardboard on the radiator, some kind of automatic blocking system seemed like a great idea. So great that when some of us Priuschat peeps were invited to Detroit to witness the unveiling of the 2010 model, I took the opportunity to ask the head engineer about them. He said 'yes, we have thought of that, but I'm told it's too expensive. Maybe next model...' and here we are.

Yes, I remember doing the grill blocking with foam pipe insulation on my 2005 Gen 2 Prius.

IIRC, they active shutters started showing up in the eco trims of other cars around that time. Now they are pretty common.

None are happening for sure, perhaps with the exception of wheel options. There is no DC charging for Prius; so, it can't have a Tesla plug.

The 2026 model-year mid-cycle refresh will hopefully see some headlight/taillight improvements as the previous models and probably nothing else.

They introduced the shutters for Gen 4,
In fact, one poor Alaskan Prius was lost due to fire because of a clueless dealer. They installed a block heater & ran the power cord through the shutters, It eventually wore through the wires, causing the car to catch fire one night in the garage,

You could grind off a corner of a shutter slat I suppose. The Toyota block heater install instruction doesn't consider routing through the grill, just leaves it in front/left corner of engine bay, assuming you're going to pop the hood to use it.

Way off-topic, but as long as we're here. :)

Way off-topic and way irrelevant but still can’t resist. ;)

Well, considering this wish list is never going to catch Toyota's attention, and even it did, it's gonna be bumper-and-light mods and maybe a blacked-out emblem version, why not.

The 2017 mid-year update added some features by default. (They charged & then credited it). The Two Eco lost its cargo cover to keep weight down. I had regret I bought an early 2017 Two since the mid-year had some features I wanted but were not available on my chosen trim.

I don't know how well the shutters worked, but when it was very cold, it wasn't very warm inside my car. After the cardboard was put in, the inside was always nice and toasty. I'm sure I'll get a warning if it ever overheats.

IIRC, in sub-freezing temps the shutters remain partially open, due to concerns about them freezing.
