Hello everyone I have a 2011 Prius Four and I bought it a few months back for heavy amounts of driving. Well upon buying it I knew it had a few issues and the Auto Button was one of them and I'm not exactly sure how to fix this issue but if I could get some troubleshooting help it would be appreciated. I have scoured the internet for my exact issue and I seem to be the first to encounter my AUTO ac button not working or turning on. Basically, the issue is exactly as it sounds I hit the AUTO button on my AC cluster and it does NOTHING no light just nothing but every other button on the AC cluster works fine. Additionally I have test both AC related fuses in the driver side fuse panel and in the engine bay fuse panel both tested for continuity and both work fine.

Do other buttons work? Windscreen heating, temperature setting, etc.

There may be some dried 7-Up or something that found its way into the AUTO button while an earlier owner had the car.

If you're game to disassemble and clean that panel, it may turn out to need nothing more than that. If that seems daunting, you could try plugging in a replacement panel to see if it works better.

So I disassembled it and cleaned the button and nothing worked still so I’m thinking it’s just a dead motherboard cause nothings blocking the button or making it not click on except the motherboard itself

I suppose you could try carefully powering it up in that state and poking a little jumper wire across the auto button solder pads, see if that gets any action

If you find out that the button is faulty, the button can be replaced for a small fee.
Find a suitable one in stores selling small electronic parts.
