I don't know where people get their neutral based news they claim they get. It seems everything I see is either why someone or something is the world's saviour or why that same someone or something is the devil himself.

I suppose that all politicians and parties and nations have their pros and cons, their good and their bad. But sifting through it all seems rather impossible to me. All I see is how the people I know are affected. And again, it seems that what one politician does may help one group of people but is bound to hurt another.

 

People get the news that supports their preconceived beliefs

 

Since most people have never heard of gsa, it's a arm of the government General Services. Yes our government that's famous for paying boat loads for pencils

.... and $640 toilets. With our government teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, is it any wonder GSA would shut down some of it hideous expenses? If we can give away hundreds of Millions in Weaponry to terrorists in Afghanistan it seems fair.

I actually see very little of the two extremes you mentioned, in actual news.
I see plenty of those extremes on opinion pieces, YouTube and social media. However, I have seen no evidence that these forms of information check their facts, correct themselves when wrong. Many are obviously making hyperbolic statements simply to get clicks/ratings.

This is a chart I really appreciate. It is updated regularly and shows me some factual based news sources I may have missed.

I get CBS, ABC and FOX and they all seem either one side or the other and with very high, but opposed, appraisal for certain peoples and actions and rejection towards other peoples and actions.

 

So where is The Economist on the chart? Can't tell without a subscription to the app.

i vaguely remember charging for out of state miles as being flamingly illegal unless said $$$ goes to that state.

 

PBS Newshour despite all preconceptions is actually very close to neutral, the trouble is the liberal and republican sources have moved right and populist so truthful news isn’t to be found on the right anymore.

I realize I am probing a vague memory which happens more & more ad we accumulate more experiences and age.

 

I suspect it was a recollection of someone else’s manufactured moral outrage.
I don’t see any state complaining that someone that spends a month a year in their state isn’t paying a twelfth of their state tax there.
