TLDR: Which wires would one tap for an 'always on' and 'on when car is turned on' to wire a dashcam (w/parking monitor. worth noting parking monitor turns off if/when battery level depletes.)

    2021 Prius Prime

Have the rear camera wire full run (panels remain out for a few additional updates.) Time has arrived to install the hardwire kit for the camera. Kit is to tap into fuse box. I haven't seen a blog, write up or video where tapping into fuse box doesn't leave an exposed wire preventing the fuse box lid from fitting back on (short of drilling an access port through the lid) and in all cases looking like questionable hack by the end, random wire leaving the box. If there is a way to tap the fuse box and look OEM then let me know and I'll go that route.

Given the fuse box concern (lid not sitting back, looking odd w/random wire) I'm leaning towards the tapping wires directly instead of fuses. If this is a BAD idea let me know. So curious which wires (w/enough slack and located somewhere under the drivers side dash (actually ok w/under passenger side dash or behind MFD for that matter) would be tapped (one for always on (parking mointor) and the other for on when ignitiion is engaged (cam itself?)

    TIA

OOPS, gave 2024 link for a 2021 prius question. You might want to search the 2021 Prius forum for that info. Sorry.
