Just got this for 120 and I'm impressed with it. It does more or less everything that Techstream can do - including info and tests etc for the hv battery. It's two way so that you can test and customise whatever's customisable on a gen 2 Prius ( security, door locks, hazards etc. etc. It says on web that you can program mew keys too but I haven,t looked into that yet. You can see functions in graphs also and register new tpms sensors etc It's quicker than Techstream as well. It has free updates for life. It comes for specific cars ( in this case Toyota) but you can buy diagnostics for other cars in the Mall section. I still have my tablet with Techstream on but this is a lot more intuitive and easier to use.
It gives all the dtc codes and explanations. For instance: It gave me a code and told me it was a misfire on cylinder one and a history of misfires. There are lots of youtube vids on it now.
Where did you get it? Amazon is showing a Launch Creader Elite V2.0 for Toyota @ $151.20 Does it need an account setup or have to be online at all to function? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I'm seeing this version on Ebay for $115... Seems promising because Toyota Techstream is super slow, confusing and annoying: LAUNCH Creader Elite For TOYOTA Full System Car OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner Tool | eBay It'd be great if one of the people on here with the most experience with Techstream could try this and find out what it doesn't do that Techstream does do.
I'm in UK and got it from Ebay with a code. You don't have to have an online account. It has an update button that you can use as soon as you open it and in the future. Unlikesome others, updates are free for life. It doesn't have to be online to function. Mechanics can add other cars to it via the mall button. I think that's around $50 You buy it ready for the cars you want. I.E. This one is for Toyotas and Lexus
The true test for one of these sorts of devices is whether or not it can get all the way through the brake bleed procedure, or even do it at all. For instance, the miniVCI cable with Techstream combination generally cannot get all the way through this. AFAIK Torque Pro cannot even start that procedure, no matter what adapter it uses.
I got the same stuff from Xtool, I like it where it can scan multiple brands and you don't have to pay (unlike Autel AP200 where only 1 brand is free and the rest is $25 per year) Unfortunately no sub code or INF code. Bidirectional capability is limited (some works, some don't) For the price it's worth it. I believe they all come from the same source in China just packaged and supported by different suppliers.
I went to the site, found many functions of this scanner and a lot of cars. LAUNCH X431 Creader Elite 2.0 BBA https://manuals.plus/m/0cff7ec8021427f977d12277c2201fb4c8472cee4407b25e9c768c6cc6c8f951_optim.pdf The following is confusing: Many versions of this scanner for various manufacturers Toyota, Ford, Fiat, Nissan, etc. are sold on electronic trading platforms. But the official website does not say a word about this scanner. Vehicle Diagnostic Tools | LaunchTech | Launch Tech USA What is this? A handmade craft by Chinese child prodigies? Or a by-product The second doubt: The scanner allows you to perform quite a lot of actions to configure the systems of various cars of the same manufacturer for a relatively small amount, which in terms of functionality is quite more than the same AUTEL. But is everything as described in the advertisement? Maybe only the selected basic set of 3-5 systems (Engine, brake system, air conditioning) is free? And all other options for setting up smart keys, monitoring the high-voltage battery, resetting codes - are paid by subscription? Replaced pads and rotors, and now I've got "the codes" | PriusChat Prius Prime Smart key fob replacement | PriusChat
I've monitored the HV battery and reset codes with it . There are no subscriptions and you don't have to do it online but it's only for Toyota /Lexus or whatever cars you buy it for. If you want the full scanning capability for other cars, you purchase and download that seperately.
Are the stated immobilizer functions supported? Are there such menus in the device? TOYOTA PRIUS 2005-2009 Type 1(67/68) Add Key Type 1(67/68) Anti-theft Box Reset (All Keys Lost) Type 1(67/68) Clear Key Type 1(67/68) Engine ECU Matching Type 1(67/68) The Number Of Keys
Not sure yet. Haven't tried it but here's a vid of somebody programming a ford key with it so I'm assuming it can do it on and old Prius
Having an entry on a menu is a long long way from having a working brake bleed procedure. Many of us have the miniVCI with Techstream, and it has a brake bleed procedure too. Unfortunately it doesn't work all the way through. AFAIK nobody has ever made that combination work. It doesn't work with the vast majority of OBD2 adapters either. What made the Autel AP200 so exceptional is not that it has this option, but that it actually works.
I replaced my brake actuator pump and completed the brake bleed procedure with Techstream and a minivci cable (cheapo one from Aliexpress) - I'm pretty sure others managed this too. I wasn't aware that the Autel AP200 was also capable.
Yeah, "nobody" was too strong. Look through the forum and there are people who never got it to work, or did it 15 times before either giving up or completing the sequence. (Did it actually do everything it said? Who knows.) Very unreliable method with that hardware and software combination, no guarantee going in that one will come out the other end with the desired result. Moreover, there is just no way to know what one is getting with a "miniVCI" cable from China. That one of these cables worked for you is not very predictive if another will work for me.
