It held out as long as it could in our crazy weather but it's time to replace the 12v. Any recommendations? I was looking at Walmart's EverStart Platinum AGM BOXED Automotive Battery, Group Size S46B24R 12 Volt, 410 CCA

EverStart Platinum AGM BOXED Automotive Battery, Group Size S46B24R 12 Volt, 410 CCA - Walmart.com

The 4 year warranty is appealing but I want to be absolutely certain it will fit since I will have to ship it to a repair shop to install.

Any places that I can get a good price on a buy and install together?

CCA or Cold Cranking Amps are not of any value in a Prius, you just need something to supply 12v first thing to close the relays etc and the traction battery does the rest. Maybe you can find a cheaper battery that has the same dimensions and terminal placement. If you have the car at home, it is a very easy job to replace the 12v battery .....

Four years of warranty is good!
    It fits the size.
It's easy to replace it yourself, everything is unscrewed with one key. And to get access to the battery, you'll need to unscrew a couple of screws on the trim with a screwdriver.

Yeah you don't want to be paying money for somebody to install a battery You can put elevator batteries and these things stand by lighting batteries all kinds of things you can do if you don't want to pay the $249 or whatever it is now for the group size and I've seen noco motorcycle batteries in the back of these things as long as they're driven and not sitting here in pretty good shape If you're going to sit them put a tender harness on the battery and push it up through the plastic and use it just like if you had a motorcycle or a Can-Am or whatever it's just that simple paying for somebody to put a battery in oh no you save enough money buying the rent you need and the trim tool if you think you need it and just put the battery in there's a million videos

These are the ones I install: 12 Volt (12V) 55 Amp (55Ah) VRLA AGM Sealed Lead Acid Battery 55 AMPS HIGH CAP | eBay

They are 55amp-hour compared to the one you're looking at, which is 35ish amp-hours and as @T1 Terry explained lots of cold cranking amps are only needed for vehicles that the 12volt stars the engine.

For Prius these mobility batteries are both better and cheaper. We've been debating this subject for more than a dozen years on here: Fitting mobility 12volt AGM battery. | PriusChat

Thanks for all the replies and great advice! I'm physically incapable of installing the battery myself as much as I'd like to try. I'm having a nightmare of a time trying to find a place that will install one I ship to them and those that want to sell me a new battery, the prices are ranging between 350-450. Does that sound reasonable? For that price I might as well go to the dealership.

No neighbours or friends that could come and help you replace the battery? Over this side of the planet, there are specialised battery places that will fit a battery they supply for free and match any advertised price you find elsewhere .... might be worth looking for one of those. There are also Men's Sheds over here where retired old blokes go to fill in the day and do good deeds around the neighbourhood, I'm sure if you find a similar thing over there, take a You Tube video on your laptop or phone to show them how it's done, someone there will climb over the others trying to help and do the job for you as you can't do it yourself ... maybe there is some skill you have that you could trade for the help .....

High School, Trade School, or Community College auto shop? (Unfortunately, if your area is anything like mine the former no longer exist.) Some Walmarts will apparently install a battery for free. Not the one near us though, it has to have a "Walmart Auto Care Center".

Added: Car parts stores will usually install a battery purchased there for free, but they wouldn't install one you brought with you. There may be some caveats - like it has to be exactly the same size so that they don't have to fiddle with the hold down.

Many auto parts retailers will install a battery for free. Make some phone calls, you might be surprised. Personally I would never use anything but the proper sized AGM battery. Doesn't have to be toyota, I think the car has interstate brand
