Hello, I have a 2013 Toyota Prius C and would like to know who I can buy BRAND NEW condition Tooyota / Panasonic modules (all 20 of them) from. I would like to do the install myself so I won't be buying them from the dealer unless they allow me just to buy the parts. I am willing to purchase online (from a reputable seller) or locally. I am located in Colorado Springs, CO. Thanks!
That is essentially what the dealer will sell you. Some dealers and a few independents with access will sell you new oem but you have to return the core. I believe Hometown Hybrids in Texas will ship. It looks like it's $2695 they install. May be less if you install but shipping costs both ways might be worth a trip to DFW. If you're gonna do the install yourself, I'd highly recommend taking a Gen 4 pack with low mileage and swapping it to your Gen3 C Pack. Best thing I ever did, and was so much cheaper than retail.
Are you saying that I can get 20 OEM Gen4 modules and swap it into the hybrid battery case without issues? Is it plug and play? I guess I would have to find a dealer or a junkyard willing to sell these and then maybe it would work. Perhaps the car would even run better with these than the original. What years and models does the Gen4 modules cover?---Also, do they have to be Nickel-Metal Hydride or do Lithium-Ions work fine on a plug-n-play basis too?
Nimh only modules. Can't swap the Lithium Ion, it won't work and its an entirely different system. Check out this YouTube vid, he actually swaps it from a Gen 4 2016-2020 into a Prius C. A regular Prius pack has 28 modules, while the C has 20 modules, you can keep the extra modules as spares, sell your old modules too of course.
2016-2020, and only the nimh models. Use the best 20 modules and sell the rest- "spares on a shelf" don't stay good on the shelf, so you might as well get a little $ for them and let somebody else put them to work before they fade down.
