So im planning on getting new rims 18x9.5 +35

does know know if i get tires size 225 or 235/35 or 40/18
will it clear lock to lock when steering and will these sizes have any rubbing issues?

For your 18x9.5 +35 rims, 225/35/18 and 235/35/18 tires might be too narrow, potentially causing a stretch. The 225/40/18 or 235/40/18 tires are better options, but they might increase the overall diameter. With a +35 offset, the rims will sit relatively flush, but you should test-fit to ensure no rubbing during full lock-to-lock steering. If your vehicle is lowered, the taller tires could potentially rub. Consulting a professional tire and wheel shop for specific advice is recommended.

    I went with 225/55/17 on 17x7 and it's a perfect fit.
    Fills the wheel well nicely.

These are my summer set up. Still great, no issues since day 1.

I've got the standard 195/60/17's on my car and I really like the ride, maybe a little bit hard.
Can't imagine it on 35 profile tyres.....

I have 235/45R18's mounted on 18x8 Sport Edition wheels, offset of which I don't know. They were the winter set off of my Model 3. Zero fitment issues after 2,000 miles. The tech at Costco, where I have an appointment Tuesday to mount a set of Crossclimate2's was skeptical that the 225/50R18's would fit. I mentioned TireRack's confidence that they would fit and the fact that I'm currently running on wider tires, but he said they use tighter specifications and that call would have to be made by the Supervisor. I found it annoying that they couldn't discuss where those specs came from while TireRack specified that they do a 3D scan and were confident the set I already had would work.

Update , I ended up just getting the Michelin Ice X 195/60/R17 (pricey)on the OEM wheels. So far so good no road noise, wondering what the MPG will be now they are mounted on. I didn’t want to mess around so I stuck with the factory size unfortunately this is the only option right now for a winter tire.

Interesting about the drop in road noise.

I actually prefer the larger profile tyre. Always had bigger wheels and low profile tyres and I'm done with damage from kerbs etc.
I do wish though manufacturers would consider just a little more about cabin noise. It wouldn't be expensive to have just a little thicker insulation around the arches etc.

The ones that came with the car, or extra? Extra rims, in other words two complete, ready-to-install sets of tires-on-rims, is advantageous for a lot of reasons.
And a very good option. (y)

I ended up going with the Michelin Ice X 195/60/R17 on OEM 17” rims so far so good . What wheels can I mount the factory Toyos on ? Do older generation Prius wheels work for the Toyo Extensa A/S tires for me to mount them on?
