Just got back from a 2,000 road trip and averaged 50.6 mpg. Not bad if you ask me!

The autumn stars must have aligned today, because this might be my best highway fuel economy yet. It was a beautiful day.. not windy but nice and breezy. I snapped this as I was coming into town to run errands. I stayed in the 60s while there and was still above 55mpg when I got home. Trip was 80 miles total - 70 highway (cruising @ 58 mph) + 10 city.

Probably my best fuel tank ever. 1005.4km (624.7mi) travelled, 29.89L (7.9gal) pumped.
    That is a fuel economy of 33.64km/L / 2.97L/100km / 79.12mpg(US)

Driven at 79mpg (34km/L) average for long enough that my range-o-meter had reset to over 621 miles (1000km) for the first time after my latest refuel! IMG_20241214_232944.jpg

My range meter displayed 1013km (623.4 miles) after this morning's refuel. 31.5km/L (74.1mpg) average over 875.1km (543.8 miles) travelled. This is the third time in a row that the range meter reset to over 1000km (621 miles) after refuelling.

I get why it may sound unbelievable. I've been improving my driving for the better part of a year to get this type of fuel economy and range - a mix of smooth driving, carefully selective ICE usage, choosing optimal routes, patience, and consistency!

    Excellent result!
Do you use any software product to record your daily car trips?

Thank you! Yes. I use the Hybrid Assistant app paired with an OBDLink LX OBD2 scanner. As long as I remember to use the app on my phone whilst driving it will record all the car's stats during the trip.

    I use the Hybrid Assistant.
In the reporter menu function, you can display data for several trips. Have you ever tried to combine an array of data for a period?
I wonder if the calculated data of the hybrid assistant matches the readings on the dashboard about fuel consumption per distance.

I just did a report aggregating my prior 90 trips all the way back to mid-December. The fuel economy average is almost bang-on accurate to today's calculated result.

Comparing photos of my dashboard to my entries on Fuelly throughout 2024, I had come to find the dashboard's fuel economy display consistently overestimates by 1.5-2.0 km/L (3-5 mpg).
