I just bought a 2006 Prius as a replacement for my totaled Prius My totaled 2009 Prius has an almost new battery Can I switch batteries between cars with no hardware changeover?
Yeah all the way up to about 2016 You're using that funny SB small battery with the same size top posts and everything so essentially you should be able to walk up to a 2016 car with a generation 2 and take the 2016's battery out and drop it right in the place where it goes in the generation too and it should all mount up and be good if it's working.
Related, would you trade batteries? I have no idea how old the battery in the 2006 is. Also should I store the 2006 Battery as backup, sell it, or something else?
What is your plan for the totalled one? If the insurance company wants it they will expect the battery too. If you are just junking it pull both batteries and put the rest on FB or CL.
I hope my insurance company would expect the battery with a wrecked car they're taking from me I'd look at them like they've lost their mind they wouldn't even ask first of all not here in North Carolina they'll be lucky to get a good portion of the car. Especially as long as some of them can take You must be kidding me anyway the car business is crooked as all get out there's there's going to be none of that no batteries and cars no sir and no insurance companies I don't think not anywhere around here that's going to be expecting them generally speaking they're not coming to get the car they're sending some other contractor and it's going straight to the auction yard LKQ what have you. Nothing leaves here with a battery in it that I can guarantee you no insurance company has ever asked anything about it of course I'm not one to have insurance companies very much involved in my cars other than insurance allows me to get a legal tag.
