I recently purchased a 2021 Prius Prime Limited... But the temperature units only show Celsius.. I have tried looking in the manual online but there appears to be nothing.... and the manual in my car is in French! That said, I also looked on the forums and found mixed results. Given that we are now in 2024 I was hoping someone might have a solution. How can I change the display to show Fahrenheit? Thank you so much!
I don't believe you can. Your odometer's likely in kilometers too. AFAIK the only thing you can convert to US is the speedometer. With 2016 Model year you couldn't even do that, a Toyota gaffe... One plus: you likely won't have to deal with the in-dash service reminders; Canadian models don't have that.
Ack, I guess I should of researched more... Didn't think changing a temp readout would be that big of a deal. @bisco was the only one I could find that met the criteria and was in driving distance. Got it in Iowa, I live in MN now. Finally replaced my 2012 Prius 2. @Mendel Leisk well... That's not good. I was really hoping there would be some sort of firmware flash or something. Guess I'll get used to it. Thankfully miles do show as miles on odometer as does the speed...mph and mpg. So no more service vehicle when 5,000 miles go by? What do you guys typically do to make sure you don't forget?
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a bit in some NV memory that determines that, but just not documented or exposed for easy changing. Maybe @Texas Hybrid Batteries would have some ideas. I believe they've been offering gen 2 replacement combination meters for a while, programmed to your car's mileage, which is kind of the same game. But somebody interested in the challenge might want to have one Celsius-version and one Fahrenheit-version board to compare.
You can use your trip A and trip b. I use trip A to track tank mileage and trip B to track maintenance. Just watch your odometer in the thousands position, every time it hits zero or five - it's due for maintenance. Hope this helps.....
You can download the Toyota USA Owner’s Manual and Warranty and Maintenance Booklet, plus maybe more (infotainment?), from Toyota Tech Info website. Keep records. Also read up on what’s involved. Consider some extras too. I’ve put together spreadsheet summarizing the Toyota USA schedule, in an easier-to-read spreadsheet table format (attached). If it’s a Canadian spec car odometer display will be in kilometres, and fuel economy in liters per 100 kilometres.
Good idea @BiomedO1 , I will probably use Trip B for total miles between service.. and Trip A as total miles between fuel-ups. @Mendel Leisk interesting.. since the odometer is showing in miles.. I wonder if its not a true Canadian Prius Prime.. =P Thanks for the links, downloaded!
