    SO......
This is starting to rise above the background noise....

    What sayeth the forum?

    MY thoughts:
In an era where they've already 'old yellered' the POTUS and the SECDEF and the SECDEF is a complete 'failure' by any reasonable metric.........one might be a little suspicious of 'SUV-sized' AUVs roaming around in a nation that will not even let you fly a drone weighing more than a loaf of bread without a license.

I'm familiar with Pivotal, and.........I get it.
    See: Roswell.
    Thoughts?

PROPS to tha folks that get the "Priority" precedence.
Precedence categories in communications 'can' include FLASH, IMMEDIATE, PRIORITY, and...ROUTINE.

They chose well to fly the drones in the Northeast US.

I would suspect if they try these monkeyshines in the South US the mysterious drones will be meant by a hail of gunfire and the remains quickly analyzed.

Speaking of that - where is the US President, Military, FBI and New Jersey National Guard - why no action?

Pretty easy to capture one of these and analyze it - many would argue this is a beginning case for National Security.

If it is a non-event - capture one - analyze it, display it publicly and let everyone know it is a non event -here is the source of the drones- and freely answer any questions!

Shooting down a licensed UAV(*) is an act of air piracy - and there are indications that the Joisey drones may not be unmanned.... ;)

Sometimes it's a really GREAT thing for your enemy to think that you're incompetent.
    (and SOMETIMES, they're right.......)

like jfk, ted k, princess die and others, i suspect we'll never know. so we also won't know if the government knows.
strangely, this has been going on for over a month, and yesterday was the first i heard about it. not that i read the news much, but i hear things...

Take this article and its source with a grain of salt ... but what they are saying is logical

Origin of New Jersey drones revealed by UFO expert as he warns of 'security threat'
"The timing of these drone incursions all around the US and some in the UK means that the most logical explanation for them is that this is part if Putin's response to the use of these long range missiles. The mass hysteria that this has created, especially in the US, has achieved Putin's aims of causing chaos and panic.
"The fact that the US military have stated publicly that they don't know what these drones are suggests that they are too embarrassed to admit the truth."

"Some defense experts have said that the New Jersey sightings are a close match for Russian Orlan-10 unmanned reconnaissance craft."

It is hunting season in our state and if I happen to see one of these while out hunting and it was close enough to me.....

exactly - that would be a competent and sensible approach and put the speculation to bed.

My question is if you and I came up with this solution how in the world are people in charge not reaching a similar conclusion or plan of action.

I think the answer might be incompetent leadership as implied in post #3.

More likely a secret government program.

Could be worried about the debris coming down in an area with a high population density.

If these are truly foreign. They are a crappy reconnaissance craft for all the ones being spotted.

Some of the drome photos online look a comet, and Geminid meteor shower has started. Here's when, where the Geminid meteor shower will be visible during peak

The drone is these photos look like a helicopter. Drones NJ: White House says many drones are manned aircraft From the skid appearance, it can even be one of these. Helicopters Division ยป Dynali Helicopter Company: Ultralight Helicopter Manufacturer There are other ultralight aircraft available. They don't need to be certified, registered, nor require a license to fly. It is illegal to fly them at night. About FAA Part 103 for Ultralights | EAA
There is just plenty of space for the government to test secret aircraft and keep them secret.
It could be some type psy-op, such as the CIA has done in the past. I think that would more likely be coming from another actor, and not just another government, these days.

The problem is that we don't have enough facts. We know that people are reporting seeing lights in the sky. We know that many of them carry standard running lights - red on left, green on right, and a white that can be mounted in various ways. This suggests that they're not hiding, or at least not much, and that these ones are man made.

There are what, maybe a dozen things that that can put a dot of light in the sky, and mostly they look pretty much alike from the ground. It is very hard to judge the size of an object in the air, this traces back to how our vision works.

My friends son was recently posted to the southern US border. When I spoke to him he said that there are a fair amount of drones around the border and we have equipment that can tell you exactly where the operator is and where the drone is. Direction finding a radio signal is nothing new.

If what you are seeing is really a drone it may also be possible to watch its video feed and send it your own commands. He said nothing about that part. If the feds were truly concerned they could bring in an AWACs and follow them until they land somewhere, send in ground units to say hi.

Me? I'd like to see someone with a thermal sensor go up and tag along. Maybe get better pictures, maybe find where they land.

"Drones," much better replacement for "UFO abduction", "cattle mutilations", "crop patterns," and "black helicopters." At least they justify:

Looked up origin of the term "drone", interesting. One of the first autonomous planes was the Havilland Queen Bee, and it wasn't far from that to queen bees, and their expendable "drone" bee mates.
