Yes, it did include the metal hub centric ring.

I took tools and spare wheel strap of my old Prius and bought a Camry spare wheel from someone wanting a full size spare wheel (155/70D17). It is -2,7% or -4,5% smaller diameter than original wheel (much like any other previous Prius generation). Axle is only getting 0,35 or 0,6 inch lower!

Your posts on this topic have been very helpful, so thanks for that. The toyota parts (especially when discounted) are very reasonable. I am going to get the toyota jack for sure, I do not need any tote bags. That said, it appears that the toyota designated prius spare is a steel wheel, which is no big deal, but it is heavy. I wonder if getting an aluminum wheel spare (from ez-spare) like this is going to save me a few pounds of weight vs the toyota steel wheel? Your thoughts?

Yes, sir, that is the question.

And, yes, if it is indeed a negative number, then steel is the way to go. But I just don't know.

Interestingly, the space saver spare in our rav4 prime is on a toyota aluminum rim. Hard to imagine that toyota would do that if it did not save weight. No?

For what it's worth, the ModernSpare weighs 31lbs for the rim and 135/80/R18 tire according to @KH111. I purchased the OEM steel spare rim and a 145/90R16 tire and the total weight was 29lbs.

Great info, thank you. Did you get the OEM rim part no. that hammersmith posted earlier in his spare tire thread?

Yes, and it was quite reasonably priced at the time. I believe the rim was $75 and the tire was around $110 from TireRack.

Thanks again. One more question, any idea if can one use the stock lug nuts (for the stock alloy SE wheels) on the steel spare? Or does one need a different set of lug nuts for the much thinner steel wheel?

The stock lug nuts should work fine as they are meant to work together. That's another advantage of going OEM.

Well, knowing that the 16" wheel and tire combo is a bit lighter and also the ridiculously low cost with all of the current toyota parts sales, I went ahead and got the OE rim ordered. And the OE scissor jack. Thanks again to all for the input.

Honda USED to supply a scissor jack that was superior to the garbage we got with our '10. Specifically, the eyelet you hook into to turn the the screw mechanism was a bent plate with dual holes, spaced maybe 3/4" apart. The hook that goes through those holes would stay stable as you turned. Toyota used a soft metal casting, a single eyelet that causes the hook piece to dance around with every revolution, while spalling off flakes of pot steel FWIW, of late I think Honda's succumbed, using the same, crap design as Toyota. When they even supply them...

    Honda style, of yesteryear:

    Well, hope it works.

I think I have only had 1 flat in the last 20 years of driving. Hope my luck holds out !

Wow, you are right, that toyota one does kind of look like crap.

In our 2005 honda van, the OE scissor jack looks similar to the toyota, but that single piece of metal with the hole is solid, thick machined metal, not just flimsy sheet metal.

    Oh well.

The bent plate connection point on the honda jack (post 72) is at least 1/8" thick, definitely not sheet metal. And the dual holes are what keeps everything much steadier when turning. Again, not sure Honda's still employing this style. :(

That said, both work, and the Toyota jack is the official one, and might fit better in tool caddy, if you get that.

I just recommend getting one of the cheap adaptors that allow a person to use either the lug wrench or (much preferred) a cheap battery powered impact driver. The adaptors are less than $10 on Amazon. Not only do they make it much, much faster to lift and lower the car, but they provide support for the eyelet.

My emergency tool kit(that fits in one of those side recesses) contains a 1/2" Ryobi impact wrench, a Ryobi inflator, and a 4Ah battery that works in both tools. Currently the kit would cost about $125 at Home Depot. I'm sure Harbor Freight would also have something cheap. I don't find it worth spending a bunch of money on a couple tools that only get used a few times a year. I use the impact driver when I rotate tires or swap tire sets, and I use the inflator when the tires need a top up. Then all you need is a 21mm impact socket.

RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless 1/2 in. Impact Wrench Kit with 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger PCL265K1 - The Home Depot
RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless High Pressure Inflator (Tool Only) PCL001B - The Home Depot

For the adaptor, search for this as an example:

Ah, those adapters are pretty clever. Did not know they existed.

When you rotate tires, do you lift the entire side of the car, or how do you do it? If you lift the whole side of the car, what do you use to do that?

The way the timing has worked out, I haven't had to actually rotate yet myself. ToyotaCare has taken care of a couple rotations, and the ones I've done came at the same time as my summer/winter swaps.

When I end up having to do it myself, I'll probably use some combination of my floor jack and jack stands. Maybe jack the rear point, pop in a pair of stands, then lift each front corner.

I like the idea of putting an RV Tire cover over my full size spare tire. Regarding your point about the actual car jack, with my 2018 Prius Prime Advance, OEM low profile tires, if one goes flat, there really is not much space to place even a scissor jack in. It's going to be tight even with the scissor jack. I grabbed a "never been used" scissor jack from an older prius.
