    IMO too.
Hummm, sounds to me like the same or at very least, very similar to running out of EV range at 80 mph and expecting the car to handle that routinely without complaining, eventually.

I'd think that at very least you'd want to complete warmup cycles 1 and 2 before switching into HV for a high speed merge attempt. a penny for your thoughts ;)

Yes; I would - If traffic is particularly heavy, I'd probably kick it back to EV mode. I also keep an eye on my traction battery status and always try to keep a reserve, since I know where in my commute I may potentially need the extra power.
Of course, if I've got a freight train heading towards me - I'm jumping on it - I don't care about the cold motor. We can only plan and anticipate so much....

So true about the planning process.
I don't know if anyone else has experienced being surprised by the Prime when switching between EV and HV modes. but I have been every once in a while. Some times I've sworn I've switched it to either EV or HV and than notice later it's not in the mode I thought I switched ti too. ( :sneaky: machine ) .... Than there are the times when I go to the EV/HV button and push the Eco,Normal,Power button instead. :giggle: :coffee: :notworthy:

sometimes the Prime has more power than I know what to do with (but I use it as best I can figure it out ) other times it's just got this ( I don't wanna right now ) attitude about it.
