I'm not so much looking for a phone mount of which there are so many. I don't want my smartphone to take over my driving experience. Just looking for the occasional mapping that I need to place it somewhere so I can glance at directions. There's that funny angled slot right in front of the steering wheel that is temping, but it angles the wrong way. Anyone use that somehow?
We took advantage of the fact that the Prius c uses a nearly universal mount for its head unit, so we put in one that could do CarPlay/Android Auto. So now the phone usually sits in the tray over the glovebox, and the map comes up on the stereo display. I did notice that there's a perfect slot for the phone* right next to the parking brake handle. Can't see the screen, but it's ideal for connected charging & CarPlay use. You might get somewhere with one of the cupholder style mounts available today. *for older, smaller smartphones, anyway.... pretty much nothing made since 2015 can fit in there.
