It's not up on Toyota.com yet, but apparently there's going to be a Nightshade Edition for 2025. I haven't seen pics yet, but reporting says black accents to the wheels, badges, door handles and sills, antenna and upholstery. Not my cup of tea, but the more the merrier. No other changes for 2025.

    edit:
Arrgh. The US is finally getting yellow, but it's exclusive to the Nightshade. Toyota is calling the color karashi, which is a type of mustard(the name for the color in some other regions).

The Nightshade will be an XLE. Color options are black, white and yellow. Blacked out badging, black lower front grille(I think there's a poster on here that will be happy a fully black grille will now be available), black lower rear bumper, black door handles, fully black version of the XLE/LTD wheels, black shark fin antenna(no panoramic roof, so the antenna would normally be body color), the little silver accents in the front seats are now black, carbon fiber effect instrument panel insert(not sure what this is), black door sills.

No idea if there will be a PHEV Nightshade.

    edit 2:
lol - Car & Driver says it's also going to come with the puddle light option I added to my Prius this summer(from a Japan-only dealer installed option kit).

By contrast, the Prius is being withdrawn from sale in the Nordic countries, apparently due to low demand. Which only affects Denmark and Finland, I believe, as the G5 was never sold in Sweden or Norway, I think.

Looks like I'm never going to suffer the car becoming too common here :)

Many manufacturers have stopped selling little cars to a lot of areas. Some of those little cars were really great - too.

I have a feeling that the yellow+black will probably look like the example in this video:

I don’t think black looks that good on Gen 5. It looks better on Gen 4. On Gen 5, it washes out the car’s features.

I think my favorite Gen 5 color is red. Silver looks cheap. Gray is meh. I don’t like dark blue. White looks good, but I doubt it’s for me.

With no changes, improvements or enhancements for 2025, that’s three model years in a row that Toyota offers the identical Prius.

    Very disappointing.

Don’t be narrow-minded. Despite the 2025 Prius PHEV having been announced a long time ago, a 2025 Prius HEV has not been announced yet. It might have been discontinued for good, with only the PHEV carrying forward.

    According to Toyota;

2025 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid - Toyota USA Newsroom

Blaming somebody for being narrow-minded has nothing to do with the fact that it's been announced.

The only difference being an extra nightshade/ paint job offering.

Lighten up. First of all, note the LOL at the end. It was meant as humor.

Second, that is exactly what I said—the PHEV was announced a long time, but an HEV has not been announced yet. You are not keeping up with the Prius.

Might need to take it up with car and driver if someone has special knowledge greater?

    Note .... the word ALSO?

Good grief. That is just a placeholder page by an auto blog. They could have put 2026 or 2027 for that matter.

No, a 2025 Prius HEV has not been announced yet.

    Right
Maybe reread the highlighted text again? Maybe not - since you apparently more than everybody else - even major organizations like car and driver.

You keep citing clueless auto blogs. When you find the announcement on the Toyota newsroom, let me know—as there is no other official news regarding Toyota vehicles.

    Latest news—Toyota USA newsroom

If you look at the news, the 2025 Prius PHEV was announced on September 26, 2024. There is no news about a 2025 Prius HEV yet. You can also look up the announcement dates for the previous HEV and PHEV model years.

How fortunate, that we should be so privileged to know somebody smarter and more in the know than Car & Driver

OK, you are right—I guess Car and Driver is smarter and more in the know than Toyota themselves.

Right, because they wouldn't have the clout to just simply pick up the phone and talk to them

Right, the auto blogs are nothing but inside information—full of the gloriest details. We don’t even need to bother looking up anything on the Toyota websites.

And, I guess Car and Driver revealed the Gen 5 Prius (2023 model year) as well as the 2024 Prius before Toyota did, but I kept missing it.

Looks like Toyota sent out info to dealers and/or press back in October.

Tell you what, if there's any difference - you want to bet $100 ?
After making ~ 400% on $20k of Tesla stock (based in part on car & drivers info) I figure I can afford some play money even in retirement.
No? But I'm putting my money where my big mouth is. Will you do likewise?
