Selling my old pigtail that I used on my Prius Prime EVSE. I no longer have this car and am offloading some old parts from it. (Winter mats...cargo cover...etc) This gave me 12A @ 240V charging speeds - it takes about 2.5 hours using this method. No issues with it, worked great for many months. "The included charging equipment (EVSE) with the Prius Prime has a standard 120V inlet. The hardware is dual voltage, and is used globally in 120V or 240V countries. This means that by converting the inlet, you can achieve 240V charging speeds @ 12 amps." This cable is a NEMA 6-20P on one end, suitable for a 20A 6-20R outlet. I also will include this receptacle for free if desired - I have an extra, just let me know. Shown in the first pic. Price: $44 shipped firm. Thanks! Please PM with any questions. Shipping will be USPS First Class Mail w/tracking to the lower 48 US.
Sorry, no - it's a 5-20P which is 110VAC and blade locations are opposite to that of a 6-20P, which is 220VAC. NEMA regulations are pretty good at preventing people from doing dumb things and attempting to kill themselves. Fun fact: You can plug a 5-15P into a 5-20 socket, but you can't plug a 5-20P into a 5-15 socket, so I don't know why that 6 foot Amazon extension cord exist or is needed.
Don't know what your trying to pull here - it's a different item from your posting #5! That has a universal receptacle, allowing you to plug a 110VAC appliance into 220VAC outlet. Best case, you just blow-up the appliance - worse case, you start a fire, shock someone, and/or kill someone. I would probably tape or somehow lock it to the charging cable, so someone doesn't make that mistake.
You're correct, I listed a different item than post #5. I'm trying to find out what is different from the cord from the the link in post #7 versus what the OP sold. - Same gauge wire - Female end is a 15a 125v - Male end is 20a 250v Once I install a 20a, 250v 6-20r receptacle in my my garage and use that adapter cable, should it not do the same thing as the OP?
Yes, that should work - but I would probably tape or somehow lock it to the charging cable, so someone doesn't mistake it for a standard extension cord and get hurt.
Yeah, the only intent to use the setup (myself only) is: - When I want a quicker charge because I'm using the car again soon. - When using the climate prep in the morning to be sure it's still toppped up when leaving. We've owed the car since May 2021 and have only put 664 liters of fuel in it.. giving us a 1.22L/100km average since ownership. My work is near its EV range limit, but I have the privilege to charge at work for free. When I get home and know I'm leaving again after supper, I could use this setup for a faster charge up.
