Just had my Prius blow a headgasket while on the 680 in the bay area near east san jose. Towed it to a local hybrid shop called Hybrid repair shop. Ordered a newly built gold package engine from HybridPit in so cal. It was shipped up to the repair shop. Installed with new water pump, cleaned EGR, new plugs and coils, coolant etc. So far no issues. Engine cost about 3k shipped here. Install with parts and labor was 2k. For those who aren't sure what it costs in the bay area to do a repair, hopefully it gives you a good estimate on cost.

So far the car is running well and I'll update as I get closer to 230k under typical maintenance and driving :)

First time? Did the intake manifold EGR passages get cleaned as well? I'd recommend a full/thorough EGR cleaning at least every 50k miles.

    So around $5K USD all-in?
