    Hey everyone,

I came across a couple threads regarding this issue, but one only seemed to have the specific problem I am having.

The inverter assembly plug (G9260-47010 ) gray clip seems to be broken, and does not lock in place, which I am assuming is the issue for my "check hybrid system" issue.

I was at the very end of my gen 4 engine swap, put oil into it (no coolant yet, was wanting to get the engine to start to bleed it in), and boom. Engine will not kick in whatsoever.

Now I have checked the orange plug multiple times, it's in, and I'm able to read the hybrid battery, the car knows its percentage.

So I had a spare inverter plug from another 2010 prius, which is the same part number. I was able to clip the gray part off, and swap it onto mine. Lo and behold, the same issue happened again...

What does this gray plug clip even do!!!! I know it "holds" it in place but is there some sort of mechanism I'm not seeing that drives the pins in place when it's slotted????
Even then I cannot find as much info as I would like to about it. Sigh.

And if by some miracle that's not the case, is there something else I could be missing? Thanks in advance.
If anyone would like extra info about my situation, I'm happy to give more.

EDIT: NEVERMIND!!!! my most recent "experiment" seemed to work??? basically I SQUEEZED the sides down as I placed it inside. YAY!!

Can you help me out here? I think I have a similar issue. I have a 2014 Prius V where the plug does not lock in place and my car cannot start (not even in maintenance mode). It also looked like the clip is broken but I do not know for sure. What did you do to get it working?

Its kind of dumb, I dont even know if this fixed it but basically after changing the plug with a spare, I noticed it would kind of "lock" before putting it all the way down. so I locked the small clip with the bigger one, being the gray clip.

I gently placed it in the slot without pushing it down, but what i did was squeeze the sides as i pushed it in.
I initially assume the pins somehow slide/slid into place when it is actually inside but i could be completely wrong.

If that doesnt work, you can order the plastic housing itself and use the clip from that i assume.

I would say definitely try it more than once, i basically was trying everything in my power to avoid soldering/repinning a new one.

Do you think you can take a picture of what it is supposed to look like? (Or I can send you a pic of mine) so I can see how mine compares to your? Where did you get that spare plug? Do you have the part number?

Yeah I would say post a picture, but i really cant tell what the difference would be, since I had looked at other pictures of others and could not find anything myself either. But still if you want to post it ill take a look. But my part was this part number: G9260-47010
