Are there mods to relocate the dash mounted shifter?

On the previous, and post, generations the shifter is located near the arm rest. We have a strong resistance to the shifter being up by the dash.

There were mods for the shifter that was in the armrest, such as push button vs stick.
Anyone know of a mod to relocate the shifter of the dash?

One you buy a push button shifter you can put it anywhere you want... I think best place for it is on the dash where it's not near your legs... Not sure why you'd want it so close to your knee? Maybe you're just really short and that's not a problem?

How long would the harnessing wires be if you wanted to move it back closer to the arrest. Entire point is to NOT have to reach up for every shift...shifter by the arm reset has been best.

Confident if following a tutorial...I'd need a long wire harness that I could snake under the molding and locate the shifter near the arm rest. BUT, don't want to get ahead of myself as we don't have the car yet...and some of the switch mods are crazy expensive.

The small dash mounted shifter is one of my best liked things on a gen 2, and now on a gen 4 prime. I can’t see what’s wrong with it.

i've always found that the things i was concerned about with a new car weren't worth the effort, and you get used to them

Shifting gears all the time (often in/out of neutral....handy to have it at the fingertips of arm resting on the armrest rather than always reaching up to shift. We each have out own styles. No point in exploring deeper until I actually have a car that has that shifter. :-D
