ABS/TC/Brake lights on after replacing rear brake pads

    Hey everyone,

    yesterday I replaced the rear brake pads on my 2010 Prius. Prior to this it never had any warning lights. I disconnected the battery before starting, wound the calipers back in and pumped the brakes once done. The only mistake I think I made was to not pump the brakes before reconnecting the battery.

    the brakes were working well at first, after a few minutes the regen disabled and the warning lamps came on. I turned off and started the car again and they went off. Now they are on all the time and I have parked the car.

    I can hear the pump running but it is almost as if it is short cycling, occasionally it will do a long buzz (like normal) but otherwise just a quick buzz which is new. All fuses are good, battery voltage is good, ABS sensors are plugged in.

    has anyone ran into this issue before?

    A 2010 in Canada probably the brake parts on firewall the two of them . Costly . Before spending three grand plus to fix this I would make sure my car is in very nice condition that I want to keep for a while or else make arrangements because these models have other things coming down the pike that you're not going to be happy about or maybe you'll be finished before that happens I don't know.

    The car may have detected excessive brake pedal travel.

    try disconnecting 12 volt again; do a few drive cycles? That might clear it.

    I’d also recommend to raise the rear again, check the wheels can free-spin 2~3 revolutions with a good push.

    If you don't have one of those already, it's a great thing to have, but you don't have to wait for it to get the trouble codes you have now. Just read those codes like this—Blink (a/k/a Flash) Codes – How to. | PriusChat—and then you'll know what you need to know for what you're dealing with now. Then you can shop for a scan tool at your leisure.

    Thank you, I did read through your brake posting. What the issue has turned out to be is actually the left rear ABS sensor! I was able to scan it with my friends scanner, test drove the car while viewing the live data and have absolutely nothing from the left rear. It’s all plugged in and the wiring is good, I have a wheel bearing on order for Friday!
