    Since this is now brought back up, I'll share some pics of when I swapped out the LED from white to red. It is a bit involved as the LED is in a plastic housing that has clips and soldered to the PCB. So you have to first de-solder the LED, then unclip the black housing part that holds the LED.

    @amarino Nice job.

    Red sharpie pen, a steady hand and a couple of seconds will give you a nice red glow too. I've not done it, but I've pondered doing it.

    What fuse is that bulb on and is it on the same circuit as the interior map lights if so then I imagine the bulbs bad I think I'll stick with white though because I use it a lot to read invoices while I'm driving at night and it's driving me nuts now

    Since the LED is soldered onto the board you can look at getting a replacement map light assembly. Either from eBay or a local junkyard if you are lucky enough to have one nearby. It is also not that hard to swap just the PCB since it is only a handful of screws that hold it into the plastic assembly. Here are some examples from eBay:

    2010 - 2015 OEM TOYOTA PRIUS FRONT CENTER OVERHEAD INTERIOR LIGHT | eBay
