Exchanging rear camera on a pruis prime 2017

    I bought my car second hand knowing the rear-camera image was very blurry around the edges. Cleaning the lens cover did not help. I hope to buy a new camera and replace it myself. Does anyone know if I need specialty tools to do this?

    My 2017 rear camera was all scratched up/hazed when I bought the car last year. I polished it with Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 scratch remover (which also removes the headlight yellowing in just a minute or two) using a pad and a drill.

    This is after and before the polishing. Try this first and make sure you never remove dry dirt by rubbing your finger on the lense. I have a small bottle with ONR in summer and windshield washer in winter and a microfiber cloth that I keep the car to clean the lense.

    In terms of specialty tools about the most you would need is plastic prybars to remove the interior panels without damaging them.

    Cheap at harbor freight, and in a pinch you can substitute clean popsicle sticks or chopsticks.

    I will have a closer look at the lens, but I am fairly sure it does not have scratches.
