OK clothes laundry. Use hot water and go around more than once. Story time. On last night before returning from Costa Rica, I washed clothes in hotel machine. Evidently the person before washed some superb plant toxins off his her clothes because they transferred onto mine. Back home I put them on and bang, I was messed up. Three more cycles and clothes were detoxified. No idea if the problem was Toxicodendron radicans, but it was epic.
I had 30 days leave before posting to Okinawa that included: driving from Coffeyville KS to the EAA museum in WI; blizzard avoidance near Grand Tetons WY; Salt Lake City to fix a failing generator; San Francisco; down Highway One stop at Esalen Institute; to Los Angles and; the the big bird flight to Okinawa. Along Highway One, I camped one night in "Poison Oak Park" and took appropriate cautions including wearing socks in my boots. About three months later on Okinawa, I put the boots on without socks and . . . suffered the usual poison ivy effects. Bob Wilson
Putting poison ivy extract on political signs? ... and suppose a young child accidentally touches the sign or some children playing tag decide to innocently use the sign as a base? Suppose high winds blow the sign onto someone else's property? What sort of world do we live in where politics take precedence over common sense, consideration of others safety, and just plain kindness? Probably say a prayer tonight in thanks for our many wonderful neighbors around us and how helpful and considered they are - I suddenly realize what some of the other options are that are out there in the world for neighbors. Gosh, I would advise you at the very least to immediately buy some umbrella lability insurance for at least a $1,000,000 dollars.
The signs will be 10 ft away from the curb on my lawn. Young child supervision is a parental responsibility. If the weather is strong enough to remove yard signs I've installed: Other poison ivy patches already growing in the area will be spread too. Neighborhood damage will pale compared to the signs. If someone wants to violate my property and steal my signs, not my problem. Better politics than another Civil War. My property is already well insured. Bob Wilson

As a fan of human urine as fertilizer (HUaF), I try to keep up with publications like this: Unveiling the impact of human urine fertilization on soil bacterial communities: A path toward sustainable fertilization - ScienceDirect Effects on soil microbial communities are examined and that's appropriate. But it makes me wonder if effects of conventional fertilizers on soil microbial communities are examined in similar detail. One interesting aspect is that their collected urine was about 1/10 as saline as sea water. This is about the same as blood plasma so that makes sense. Authors suggest further research on salinization from HUaF. Here one should also 'run the numbers' on NPK fertilizer because its potassium comes with chloride.

I wouldn’t know Prompt energy release within ~1 meter can be constrained and initiate fusion, as recognized by 20th Century bad boys Edward Teller & Stanislaw Ulam. One version has 15 kilograms of 6Li2H in which 47 grams of matter becomes energy. One megation Boom. One might suppose that technical details for all that would remain as super duper secrets, but no. Precursor isotope of uranium is rare and that of plutonium is absent. Industries to produce and separate them are required. So, few nations can boom or BOOM. == Primate groups first dominated others within a kilometer by going there and biting them. Sticks and stones improved efficiency and reach. I understand an outer cylinder of uranium and a core of plutonium surround the 6Li2H for a fusion-fission reaction. Initial fission neutrons convert the Li to tritium that in close approximation to the hydrogen fusions releasing neutrons. This flux fissions the outer unenriched uranium shell and the plutonium core. It isn't clear to me why the center core should be plutonium versus unenriched uranium ... state secret. Bob Wilson
