I started the car (2006) with jump box (12v had been having issues), disconnected box, it was running for maybe 5 minutes, I noticed a bit of white smoke coming from under hood driver side, I jumped in to turn the car off and noticed the car had turned itself off. Since that happened, I’ve gotten the Key Not Detected flashing light upon trying to start; even though the fob still works to lock and unlock the doors. Chicken dance obviously does nothing bc the car does not recognize the fob as the original fob. Battery fairly new in fob (but I will replace again). I’ve tried with the SKS button depressed and non-depressed. Looking for any feedback possible. Thanks
you probably need a new 12 volt, but the smoke under the hood isn't good. any trouble lights on the dash?
Magic white smoke indicates that a new dad has been elected in your car, the old key will no longer be able to start the car.)) Your fuses responsible for the operation of the starting systems and the hybrid installation have most likely burned out. This sometimes happens when the 12V battery is incorrectly connected. In the fuse box in the engine compartment, there is one large composite fuse that runs under transparent plastic. It looks like this fuse is damaged somewhere. Other fuses in this block may also burn out. Check their condition.
It could also be that the ICWP (inverter coolant water pump) shorted out and blew the AM2 fuse. Just for the record, the "Key" button should be in the "Out" positon for SKS to work.
