Unable to access the TPMS computer with tech stream or with an aftermarket module. What do you think is wrong?

That's interesting because it's blue like it's available The yellow means there's no communication or something or it hasn't communicated yet. I guess your cable's doing well and it's reading codes and everything?

Perhaps the connector of the unit is problematic. Have you tried to open it and inspect it?
Sometimes one of the Techstream sections does not work for me, I reboot the laptop.

I have no trouble bringing up the menu even with my basic AP200 pulls the menu right up allows me to enter in whatever I type into the box four times or five if I'm dealing with the spare That's right here I'm looking at it now to be honest with you I haven't actually tried this in TIS or Toyota software I see it when I open up the main menu in TIS it's right at the top of the silly page telling me what my tire pressure sensors are saying doing whatever and I imagine if you click on something from there you can go to this menu that I'm in in the AP200 and type in a bunch of letters and numbers for each sensor and then close that out reboot the car whatever it is you have to do and things will be correct but if you can't even get to that window yeah that is interesting I would wonder if you could get to that window with an AP200 just out of curiosity because in my 13 Persona sometimes my VCI cable doesn't connect to any of the TIS software on the laptop which is valid and from a Toyota dealer it's the real deal and this only happens in the generation 3 sometimes in the 2010 sometimes in the 2013 I have no connection no matter what I do and the car is running and then I go get my cheap piece of junk 3100 in Nova scanner plug it right in and it reads the permanent code that's been there like it's always been there since the dawn of time no issue but the Toyota software won't connect so I don't worry about it and oh well but my cheap scanner will connect and read almost all the codes It's like a 3100 in Nova It's a very capable scan tool given that it's a piece of junk It even reads codes that it can't see and has no information on like I just read one recently I can't even remember what the code was and it said right under the code that the scanner has no information on the code but this is the code and then I look it up on Google for the Prius and boom there it is But the scanner was built before it could even recognize the code but it displays it if that makes sense so I keep this old 3100 because it seems to do a good job and it will read the ABS codes too when sometimes TIS will not even connect to the generation 3 It never does this on the two.

I've used both a Mini VCI and a Tactrix Openport 2.0 as dongles for Techstream, and for dealing with my gen 3 TPMS, I've found, surprisingly, the Mini VCI works better. The Openport will connect and show values, but some of the active operations like registering IDs only sorta work.

Can Techstream access (communicate) with any of the other ECUs in the car?

I had no issues with the Xtool D8. I put new ones in when I got new tires a couple months ago.
I had written down the serial numbers on them and brought up the tire monitor window.
Then typed in the numbers. And it worked. It was like a Mac! Too easy!

Software says yes. But then again software doesn't show inability to contact the denso TPMS module until you try to program it. I'm going to pull a module out of another car. Pop it in here and see if it reads. Just hate to erase the module from the other car because that would mean I'm going to have to oh wait a minute. I can pull module out of a Toyota Tacoma too. It's the same module in any of these cars. Isn't it? That Tacoma needs TPMS sensors as well so I guess I could pull that one....
