Tesla has a similar policy based upon how many stalls are actually in use. Most Tesla charging stations have at least 6-8 charging stalls and in Dixie, congestion tends to be rare. Plus, the Supercharge network continues to grow. A month ago, Tesla activated a 16 stall, 350 kW each, station where in the past I used a dual-stall, shared load, 65 kW station, CCS-1 station.

It is unlikely to affect me:
    • Supercharger network is lower cost so CCS-1 stations are less attractive
    • My CCS-1 BMW, is my City car/. At 50 kW and with the range extender, it does not need CCS-1 charging.
      • It does charge at Tesla Magic Dock stations billed at higher, CCS-1 rates
On a trip, I charge enough to reach the next supercharger with with a 30-40 mile reserve. This keeps me in the faster side of the charging curve for the fastest trip. For example, my next trip to witness the Starship launch:

    • Full Self Driving (Supervised), V12.4.3, will handle the driving
    • More are at truck stops overlapping biology with charging.breaks

Didn't some companies try this before?

Sometimes it's more about the space than the charging. I've noticed that newer chargers are now added to the back of parking lots, away from the main entrances.
They've just opened up a new Walmart out here. It's about 18 months old with PV panels used as shaded parking. About a third of the spaces are marked as EV spaces w/o charging ports. Everyone just parks there and ignores the markings. Hopefully they'll pass a city ordinance so these people may be cited, similar fines as taking a handicap spot.:censored:

My public charger was placed in the least likely parking spot on an alley behind the Discount Drugs store. I've only had two ICE events: floor cleaning crew member and delivery van. Both cleared quickly but I was only going for a convenience charge while shopping.

Many were charging idle/parking fees after the battery is fully charged. Topping off a battery to full goes slower though, so these busy sites will stop charging at 85%, and start the idle fees.
