That is awesome. Do you know if that's regional? IE, you're in Finland, does that correlate to the US? Regardless, you're a blessing. Going to shoot that over to my dealer; waiting on a car on the lot He loves hearing from me, or at least so I've convinced myself "Hey dealer, here's some random information I found online!"
Those IDs are from the Europe-wide support system. I don't know if there is any regular mapping from them to US TSBs. I imagine not - for example we know the interim handling was different in US and Europe.
There's still no TSB or service campaign on TechInfo North America, so I'm guessing the poster just noticed the recall announcement that's been on our apps since April. Also, my VIN is under 3000, so I'll probably be one of the first batch notified if they roll out the recall remedy in stages.
So far it seems the first people (according to the french forum) finally got their "fixed" Prius 5. Understandingly Toyota prioritizes the cars standing around for now before they will fix cars that are already with customers. I did not get an update so far but who knows - given it was hanging around at the port of entry its nothing the dealer can mess up (yet).
I assume undelivered cars are the first priority, then Japanese + European recalls, then North American recalls last, as they've got the auto-lock function.
Breaking News - Dealership called, and my '24 LTD is getting trucked from the port to the dealership in the next 5-7 days! Finally, some tangible update. Not sure how much time they'll need to do the recall fix on the rear door latches, but I gotta assume it'll be in the next 1-4 weeks, and then I'll finally get my hands on the car!
Score! Good luck! Did they specifically call out 'thus, the part is coming to us'? Or is it being fixed at the port?
The sales guy didn't say. As part of the sale, I'm having the dealership tint the windows, and he said we'd schedule an appointment in the future for that, post-sale. I replied back "what about the Recall door latch repair, is that done before the sale or will we schedule an appointment for that too?" and haven't gotten a response back yet. I have a sinking feeling that the Sales guy remains clueless about the Recall fix... we shall see...
The updated latch assembly may be on the car as it shipped. There was a delay in manufacture that delayed delivery. My understanding was that they weren't shipping any more vehicles with the flaw.
When I put the deposit down on mine, it was already either on the boat or at the port, so I think mine was "post-production" and will need the repair still. But you're right, for all the ones on the Toyota Inventory page today, those all should be post-fix & will ship & sell like regular.
Do you known when your car left Japan, and showed up at the port? My car 'arrived' at the dealership in April, like the day after the announcement. So mine clearly is just 'waiting for the part'. I guess it's that small window of <got fixed got shipped> versus 'was on the boat when the announcement was made'. Either way, good luck! Fingers crossed over here too...
Hah, thanks! The irony is, during this time period, I ended up needing/wanting a car too. So at this exact moment, the Prius is sitting there waiting for the parts (my wife's car), and there's a Rav4 Prime coming for me now... the question is, which will be first ? Build date of 7/26, delivery estimate of 10/26... If the Rav4 Prime ends up being here/ready before my wife's car, it's going to be mildly amusing.
That happens. We bought a Camry hybrid in 2022 (late in the year, it is a 2023). We had a medical issue that required lots of miles and 2 very old vehicles. We were going to share the new car. Well that didn't work out very well, so I got my Prius last fall after a persistent search for what I wanted (got exactly what I wanted). Now my husband has decided that he wants the new style 2025 HyCam, and has located what he wants and ordered it. After not having a new car since 2012 (my gen 3 Prius) and 2005 (Accord) we will be driving 2 new cars. LOL
