yes, lots of people. but the prius has been on build hold for a few months, so i would expect quite a delay.
Put my deposit down towards the end of April, just after the recall announcement. Dealership hasn't provided any real updates or timelines, hoping for some good news before end of the month.
I have the same flavor you are looking for. I started my search around 2/23 and didn't get delivery until 3/24. Your location will depend heavily on the availability as the coasts seemed to have several sitting on lots while the mid-west was mostly crickets.
I originally “ordered” a 2023 Prius LE in supersonic red back in June 2023. It never came and I eventually put in a deposit for an “In Production) 2024 Prime SE I found. From deposit to pick up, it was about 3 months.
The stop sale/recall/back door issue. They effectively stopped producing them in April of 2024, didn't start until June of 2024, and are just now starting, kinda sorta, to provide parts. rear door lock actuators are a potential short circuit if water enters leading to doors possibly opening on their own or in a crash. i don't think it ever happened though. it has taken toyota quite some time to negotiate and implement a fix. now they have to play catch up.
I just got off the phone with a sales rep this morning, she said the one they show on their website, (an LE, AWD) listed as "may be in transit" is still probably sitting in Japan, awaiting a fix for the rear door issue. She also said (like others here) that they can not order a car, but get orders ready to fly once they fix the issue. Here it's the end of July and they don't yet have a fix yet for an issue discovered back in April???. Very frustrating. Thankfully, I still have my 2017 Prius II which has been averaging 62 MPG. BUT, I hate to put miles on it as this will diminish my trade-in value. Oh well. Guess I will wait until they are back in the line-up. And maybe borrow my wife's car. LOL
Just received my 2024 Prius Prime XSE. We ordered it on June 14, It took exactly 3 months. We heard it was allocated 3 weeks ago. I am in Central Florida.
