    What would you do with an old oil burner?

    Just thinking about where they get their engines.

    Nice that is what I had done to mine.

    Now I got a Blitz WAI and Jet performance MAF with a Big bore throttle body on a TB spacer with a Red Bullet track edition solenoid.

    All tied together with a Magnaflow catalytic converter, Ganador muffler and a Nexcell lithium HV battery.

    Super quick...

    Can you explain what a Blitz WAI is and what it does?

    Gen4 pistons? In a gen 4 engine or the revised gen3 pistons in a gen3 engine?

    What does Plus add over the $2900 gold package?

    Do they have any high mile reports on their rebuilt gen3s?

    Oh wow I just noticed that he said Gen 4 pistons & rings.

    I was offered that after I got my engine.

    I just have the updated Gen 3 pistons & rings.

    So Gen 4 pistons are better in the Gen 3

    Step one would be to verify they’re indeed different. And the Gen 3 pistons/rings being the revised ones, why would they be inferior to Gen 4 piston/rings; what tweaks (if any) make the latter better.

    I believe I’ve read the part nos are indeed different, revised gen 3 versus Gen 4, but it’d be good to check. And what are the diffs. They may be trivial/technical, unrelated to oil consumption propensity.

    Even brand new Gen 3 pistons/rings of the original (low tension) style can be trouble-free, for at least 100k miles.

    our ‘10, albeit with a trivial 100k kms, and everything original, has yet to see any oil consumption, at least as evidenced by the dipstick.

    @Mendel Leisk

    IIRC the Gen 4 pistons are slightly bigger than Gen 3 pistons.

    @TMR-JWAP

    One more time for the folks that dont get it.

    The Blitz (WAI) warm air intake is an (SRI) short ram intake.

    Anything else you do not get or are you going to repeat the same question again?

    Didn't mean to upset you. Waiting for this part of the question to be answered: and what it does?

    @TMR-JWAP

    How about you go look it up and report back here with your findings?

    That way you are not just repeating the same question over and over.

    Should be pretty simple to figure out but I guess some things are hard to figure out.

    1. It removes money from your pocket when you purchase it.
    2. It replaces the stock intake and air filter assembly that connects to the top of the throttle body.

    Yes, it was pretty simple to figure out.

    @Brian1954

    Glad you can actually read and put things together at your age still, but know that this Blitz intake outperforms your stock intake.

    Then there is the JET performance MAF sensor but you might not be able to put all that together and figure it all out.

    Thanks for watching!!!

    I made my response in post #255 because you would not answer TMR-JWAP's question about the Blitz air intake. So I took a swing at it.

    How is your Blitz warm air short ram intake different from what Hybrid Pit sells on their website as a cold air intake?
    BLITZ Cold Air Intake for Toyota Prius 2010 -2015

    I did some research and it looks to me like the cold air intake that Hybid Pit is selling, is actually a warm air short ram intake. This looks the same as what you have installed in your car. So your description seems to be accurate.

    FYI, did you know that a cold air intake is different then a short ram intake? You can have one or the other. You can not have both of them on the same car.

    Maybe it does and maybe it doesn't. I did not buy my third generation Prius for performance. If I wanted performance, I would have purchased a different car 13 years ago. My Prius has served me well in my "old" age.
    I am glad you brought this up. I can not figure it out. Can you please tell me why the JET performance MAF sensor is better then the stock MAF sensor?

    It is my understanding that the MAF sensor sends signals to the ECM base on the amount of air that is entering the throttle body/engine. The ECM uses this information to determine how much fuel needs to be injected into each cylinder to obtain an optimal air fuel ratio.

    So what is different about the Jet performance MAF sensor and the signal it sends to the ECM?

    I do know it will take money out of your pocket, but maybe I'm wrong about this because of my age.

    Don't overlook the MPG improvement due to the reduced weight of cash in your pocket.
