I removed the intake manifold, EGR valve and cooler, brake booster pump, master cylinder, and traction battery. The bracket came from one of those areas. The bracket has 2 oblong holes typically used for cable clips. But I have searched for dangling cable clips that are not secured and do not see any.
I have not reassembled the wiper blades and cowl, but I looked at youtube videos and do not see this bracket mentioned. The bracket has 2 bolt holes for bolts. see attached images IMG_2691.JPG IMG_2695.JPG

I could not see any unsupported wire clips nor places to bolt the bracket down under the metal cowl. I watched 2 videos of replacing the spark plugs. I did not see the mystery bracket. There is a bracket on top of the metal cowl that supports the cowl.
But it was a good guess. Thanks.

I would "guess" it's something with the master cylinder and tank that holds the brake fluid.
I don't believe there is anything like that for the egr stuff...
Look up the brake items and look for that bracket.

Thank you. I will do that. I am embarressed to write that there are also 3 screws that are left over. (81 years old and senilel) They do not have caked-on oil or dirt on them, so maybe not from engine area. See pic. They are M6 screws that a 10mm or phillips head screwdriver IMG_2696.JPG IMG_2697.JPG will fit.

I'm trying Google's Image Search, with your latest pic. It's quite effective, as evidence by these results; it found another one of the earlier pictures you posted in this thread. Even with different orientation it was able decode that it was the same object. Still no luck though.

When I'm doing disassembly, I lay out nuts/bolts and brackets along an adjacent window ledge, in the sequence I removed them, and put a piece of masking tape below each object or pile, indicating where it's from or what it's for. Not perfect, I've had a few "left overs" as well. But it helps.

ASRDogman-Thanks. I found the bracket in an illustrated parts breakdown. It looks like it attaches to the booster pump and maybe the master cylinder. I dread having to remove things in the way to replace it. I hope that I will not need to remove the master cylinder.
Thanks for your help. part 44595 2024-06-03_16-34-15.jpg

You are welome. I have never had to mess with either of those parts, yet.
But it doesn't look like you would have to remove them to put that part back.
"MAYBE" loosen parts to ease them out of the way?

The bracket only supported a wire harness. I worried that it supported the pump. I installed the bracket in one hour. The screws were left at the car by my grandson from another project.
    Thanks again.
