Yup My wife drove past the KC MO Tesla dealership and showed me 40 Cybertrucks. They have been delivered. Several neighbors have them. 2 parents at my childs school.
I just can't believe there's 1000 people a week that would buy one....or even 10......drove by one on the highway a couple days ago and, to me, they look even worse close up...
Yeah. In one week the cybertruck count in my area is now 4 equal to the Rivians...however all the Cybertrucks look the same so I could be seeing the same one twice. Count is for sure 3. 2 neighbors park them in their driveways outside.
I finally saw my first Cyber"not a truck" last week at a Walgreens. Took a few pictures of it. (Zero badges or markings on the thing.) The screen inside was HUGE, typical Tesla. Not even sure what a person would use it for....doesn't look like it would be easy to park anywhere, it's very wide.
What struck me was they are identical looking. First thing I would do if I could afford one -- I can't -- is get it wrapped, anything but stainless.
Wrapping these is very popular. I have seen a lot of creative wraps. I have no need for a truck, so I don’t own one. However, if Tesla uses stainless steel for the $25k ‘Model 2’ I will give it serious consideration.
So far we've only heard from the people who bought one to do ____________ to it for YouTube fame. Haven't heard from anyone who actually wanted a car that looked and worked like that. I'm not saying anyone is actually doing this wrong... CT's very best use might be memes and clicks. If you can feed your family by dissolving a brand new EV in a swimming pool full of salad dressing "for the lulz" who am I to criticize?
Remember they are supposed to be protective in their shell which appeals to the paranoids. Lots of ground clearance. Power in excess. One thing for sure is they standout in traffic. It is bigger than you expect. People who drive them like them. I think r2 will eliminate the sharp metal edges which seemingly were an oversight and include character lines to mainstream the look. A non-stainless version with volume Tesla manufactured batteries could drop the price by $20k with cheap Texas and Nevada labor.
Selling an unpainted, corrosion resistant car eliminates the 'paint shop' and lets the customer, after sale, get the wrap color and pattern they want. Bob Wilson

Is the cybertruck a manifestation of Festivus? We get the airing of grievances and feats of strength, so I figure it's one aluminum pole short of being a rolling holiday.
I'm starting to see a few around here. Tampa is a hotbed for Teslas (and EVs in general), but CTs are still kind of scarce.
I wonder if when the first model t's came out if people argued, "it is good for transportation" - "no it's not as good as a buckboard" ... it is .... it's not .... it is .... it's not. Ad nauseam .
