Prius 2013 P0A40 P0A41 refused to move

    Hey! Need some advice here. So, I've got a Prius ZVW35 plug-in hybrid 2013 years old with 72,000 miles on it. The other day, I ran into a bit of trouble. I got an error message saying "Check the hybrid system" while I was driving, and my car basically refused to go any faster than 10 miles per hour. Tried the old trick of removing the 12-volt battery to reset the errors, but no luck. Ended up crawling home at snail's pace, plugged in, and charged it up.
    So, after resetting the errors with the 12V battery, the issue seemed to temporarily go away, but it popped back up again a day later, even though the car was driving normally. That's puzzling. Anyone experienced something similar or have any insights on what might be going on?

    I visited some electrician experts they did a kind of hard reset to my errors, and they informed me that my gear is dead and needs to be replaced. However, I recently changed the oil in the gear, and it seemed to be in normal condition, with only a small amount of metal shavings. The oil itself is 10k miles old and appears darker than it should be it’s like more dark purple colour . I've attached images of the error codes and the condition of the oil. Also i've checked sensor on the side of the transmission for any wire damage but it looks unharmed.

    For your engine, I'd reccomend doing your own oil changes and get a magnet drain plug and change your oil with full synthetic high mileages oil more often than nomral before you conclude that's an issue. These engines don't really have those kinds of problems.

    For your battery pack, let us know about the decline of your EV range?     There is one small problem with the translation that is used above. Below is a better translation:

    What oil did you put into the transmission 10k miles ago?

    The trouble codes that you report could be a problem in one of the three areas listed below,
    1. Inverter with converter assembly.
    2. Hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly (transmission).
    3. Wire harness or connector.

    This problem sounds like it will be a difficult thing to troubleshoot and be expensive to repair. Sorry, but I can not help you anymore than what I have written above.

    The position resolver is inside the transmission. The MG ECU that it connects to is inside the inverter. If the problem is either of those things, repair will be expensive. If the problem is in some wiring between those things, maybe not.

    That makes this one of those times when there is a strong incentive to follow the troubleshooting steps in the repair manual:

    The oil that I see draining in the picture that is the engine oil or the transmission oil it looks awfully gray or gray silver like a lot of metals in it Is that the transmission oil looking like that it should be dark red almost a brown color at a butt low to miles 73,000 mi could make it a very deep dark red almost to brown color if that's your engine oil again metal shavings and possibly water if it's the engine oil I didn't go back and look at the picture to see what's draining out of where and by the codes you have there looks like internal transmission motor generator problems big problems transmission at least probably has to come out and bust all that open probably better to take another transmission they're pretty much a dime a dozen probably I don't know how much all of that changes because of the plug-in hybrid business but it's still the two Z engine and it's related driveline.
