Vehicle Diagnostic report with Hybrid Battery Test - before buying car

Are the highlights your’s or the dealership’s? Did you ask them to explain the diagnosis that you had them perform? If so, what did they tell you? If not, why not?

 

Looks about right for a half-used up Prius with oddly few miles (kms) on it.

It isn't a bad report. If I found the right deal on a car like that, I'd get it new tires & 12v battery, a fresh set of wiper blades and then fairly expect a good six years or so before anything got expensive.

Is that what you want out of it?

 

The report is only good at telling you what the hybrid battery was showing at the time they hooked the car up to techstream 63% SOC that dropped to 57% SOC while testing.. Kinda like one screenshot from DfPrius or Hybrid Assistant app, it only shows a small part of the hybrid batteries range.

Thanks for posting the printout, now more of us know what is shown in the basic version of the health check.
Looks to me like they didn't even put the car in maintenance mode during the test run.

 

DrPrius app priusapp.com and an odb2 bluetooth adapter is a good way to started monitoring the hybrid battery.
And another thing that works is getting a kilawatt meter to monitor how many watts it takes to fully charge the battery from empty.

Both of those suggestions don't always tell you exactly what condition your hybrid battery is in now, unless you post screenshots here to compare with what other previous and current Gen 4 Prime owners have and are seeing respectively with Primes.

Hybrid Assistant is another app that is used quite often by other members here and includes some data about the engine too.

and all three apps recommend different adapters.
Prices at both Amazon and eBay range from around $20 to around $150 for an adapter.

Sorry for the overl.oad, it's a lot even for me after 6 years of actually using that stuff.
My personal recommendation is the panlong adapter that @jacktheripper used while building the DrPrius app for the Gen2 Prius and of course the DrPrius app.
Reason being, it was the easiest way for me to start learning about what was going on inside the hybrid battery case while the Primes in Ready mode. And probably more importantly, it was built with getting the hybrid battery data first and foremost, which is probably why there are a lot of priuschaters that use it, including me.
