Jumped reverse polarity car's now dead.

    Completely dead when the power button is pushed.

    The jumper/charger was connected to the 12v battery incorrectly. First, the 50A setting was used, when that failed it was left overnight on the 10a setting. Again the terminals on the battery were connected incorrectly through all that. :/

    I have read several threads and most refer to the fuseable link. I put an ohmmeter across the two bolts on it (top rear and right side) and it showed 0.00, so the fuse appears to be ok.

    What can I check next?

    Just for completeness, I've just replaced the ABS accumulator/pump, and the accompanying resistor (under the dash) with new OEM from Toyota parts. It took about 6 weeks to get to and complete, and in that time the 12v battery died (it's only one year old). I removed the inverter during the process, but I'm as sure as I can be that it was connected correctly. I connected a jump box (Genus GB40) under the hood at the fusebox correctly after the repair and the dash lights came on, but no ready light. But I only wanted the ABS pump to run so I could bleed it. Now after the charging mistake, there's nothing at all. The jump box ran out of juice, so then an old-school charger/jumper was connected to the 12v battery.

    Is a 2008 Gen2. It's got less than 145k miles and I get the oil changed regularly.

    Update.

    SOLVED!!

    So continued researching what might be wrong, and saw a vid about being sure to push down on the orange, big battery, isolation handle widget thing, when refitting it. I double-checked it and it clunked down, so amazingly the electrics seem to have survived my idiocy. When I connected the GB40 to the terminals on the fuse box it fired right up and the ABS warning lights are no longer displayed.

    Well there you go like I say you have to slam it home on the last step when you're pushing down gets em every time

    Sounds like two things were going on: the "completely dead" because the 12 V battery was out of juice and the GB40 was needed.

    Service-plug interlock not slammed home doesn't give you completely dead, it gives you the warning triangle when you try to start the car, and the P0A0D code when you read the codes.

    Odds are 95% or better your first charger has some sort of reverse polarity protection that, like Mighty Mouse, was there “to save the day”. Or it is broken.

    As far as I know the nocos have a protection circuit and a light for reverse leads at least my GB70 does but that's been the worst car jump box I've ever seen I've had two fail in less than the year warranty and now they won't deal with the third one that's out My buddies have bought the cheap Amazon 3 and 4000 milliamps or whatever the thing is rated double the size of the Norco GB70 and they haven't had any problems in years and use them all the time mine rarely gets used and I've been through two of them and the third one is down and basically bricked and just the paperweight and the company won't stand behind it so I guess the cheap four or 5,000 unit I go by on Amazon or eBay they're only like $66 versus $189 or whatever they are now for the noko GB70 249 AutoZone I think won't happen again.

    I'm honestly not sure if how and why it came to be, but just happy I'm back on the road. Just put 200 miles on it and no issues so far. Except a headlight is now out, because, Prius.

    Well whether you have the halogens regular lamps or HID I don't know but both are relatively easy fixes If you have the HIDs consider the ALLA LED conversion kit I put this on a loaded 07 Prius and they work great put in matching bulbs in the fog lights and everything is nice .skucci
