I just found an article from Tanabe saying that they finished developing the strut tower bar and under brace for the new Prius. Not sure when will this be available in the US market. I also noticed that if you install the under brace, you will not be able to install the cat shield........ Link: トヨタ 新型プリウス 補強アイテム2点 開発完了しました!! | TANABEのブログ
I installed a Cusco strut tower bar, two chassis under braces from "Mike Five Hundred", and a TRD rear sway bar on my 2013 Plug-in. They really transformed the car and maybe saved my life! A guy pulled out of a side road and I was able to avoid hitting him with a quick instinctual left-right-left of the steering wheel. No squeal of tires, no sliding. I was amazed and very thankful for having done the mods. And finally I had convinced my wife (who was with me) that the cost of the mods ("to make the car safer") were more than worth it. What might also have helped avoid a collision were the 16-inch Weds SA-15R wheels I bought in 2014. They weigh 14.5 pounds each, and improve the steering response and roadholding. All in all, a great combination of mods, and all to make the car safer (and way more fun in the corners!). It will be interesting to find out how much a strut tower bar and other mods improve the Gen 5 Prius which is certainly superior to my Gen 3 Plug-in as it was in stock form.
looks like it comes in either non-quick release and quick release lever. Tanabe Strut Tower Bar Plus for Toyota Prius 2023-2026
@RightOnTime Nice! Please let us know how the install goes and your impressions of the Tanabe Strut Tower Brace after you get some corners in.
Here is a picture of another Brand (Blitz) that we sent out to confirm USDM compatibility: It’s a beautiful piece but needs some slight trimming to the wiper cowl. Blitz Strut Tower Bar Plus for Toyota Prius 2023-2026
We got some very bad news! The Tanabe Strut Tower Bar is a ‘no go’ for the LHD Prius in the States. The brake fluid reservoir does not clear the mounting bracket.
Ah shucks, greatly appreciate the follow up, I'll keep an eye out for any updates/other options, thanks!
