Using bus bar nuts from a Gen 4 pack that I just acquired.

 

I have changed the shipping services to include Canada

 

Stock nuts are 12.8mm diameter, these stainless are 13mm (see below, two stainless nuts and one OEM nut as well as stainless vs stock OEM install on the terminal, please note the flange coverage)

 

Is very nice . I use what's clean n ready.

 

When I started cleaning my bus bars, I used sandpaper over a flat surface. I noticed high spots on the bus bars. If I sanded them long enough to remove the high spots, I might remove enough material to increase the resistance. Plus a lot of work. But my car is 14 years old with 229,000 miles. I was impressed with the Acenbay nickel plated bus bar and their nuts. I will check into the CRC battery spray. My initial thought was the clear dielectric grease.

 

Baking soda and a tooth brush.....

 

I’m in the process of switching out the inventory from Amazon, so nothing is FBA at this point. It is a pain and it is also a costly process. I suggest until Amazon FBA is ironed out, visit our online store or eBay, I think you will find the shipping costs to be more reasonable.

 

I replaced my bus bars about 3 months ago. I bought solid copper bus bars. I figured that Toyota knew what they were doing to not use nickel plated bus bars.
They are corroding already. see images. The car has not been used more than 20 miles. Should I scrap these and buy nickel plates bars?

 

Mine aren't yet I ended all the nuts on my brand new battery The minute I got it and sprayed the front and the back of the orange strips The bus bars but some of this red dye looking crap still there and still holding I don't know about 2 and 1/2 or 3 years in now every so often now about yearly I'll lift the edge of the battery cover list of metal cover up in shine a light inside flip the black cover on that side down with my long pic see the red close it back up. But by all means you can certainly get you some nickel plated things and see how they do You might want to get the nuts that go with the nickel plated bus bars.

 

I did also replace the nuts. My battery is old, so maybe that is part of the problem. CRC makes a spray-on "Battery Terminal Protector". I will buy a can and spray away.

 

Yeah generally I would make sure they're clean when you spray them so if you've already got some of this blue green stuff happening you need to get that off before you spray away anyway that's just seemed to keep mine from advancing the corrosion I did it to a brand new battery so no corrosion had time to occur yet I guess when I took the bus bar orange strips off and laid them down to spray the backsides they all looked well brand new it was a new battery so I guess that's expected I didn't want it to have a chance to start forming that blue green living organism whatever it is. And so far it is not coming to roost in the two vehicles that I monitor pretty regularly The other two aren't here all the time so they don't get checked as often.

 

Your issue is that your battery is old and weak, and likely leaking.
It leaks from the inside out... the spray is a waste of time and money.
